I first mentioned my bouts with insomnia
on my blog on October of 2008.
I can't even remember
how long it had been going on before that
but I do know as time went on
it got worse and worse.
I could always fall asleep
I just couldn't stay asleep.
I blamed it on hormones.
I blamed it on stress.
I tried everything.
(Melatonin, Sleep Therapy, Exercise, Sour Cherry, Warm Milk...etc.)
By the beginning of this year
I was averaging 2 hours of sleep a night...
if I was lucky!
It was affecting everything.
My home life.
My emotions were a wreck.
On May 29 of this year
I went to the Doctor
and he started me on
a very low dose of a medication
to help me stay asleep.
It started working that very same night.
Oh my stars the world is a brighter place
when you have 8 hours of sleep a night!!
There's only one side effect.
Between sleeping all night
and our beautiful weather,
it's really cutting into my blog time!
But I feel fantastic!

smart enough to know when you need help,
and brave enough to ask for it. ~ unknown
