Something Had To Change

Let me first assure everyone
we are all alive and well here in Southwest Sask!

And except for the snow that started Saturday night and has yet to quit...
(but it is mid-November on the Prairies of Canada after all)
life is slowly starting to fall back into place.

First off - nothing has changed with Banjo.
He is as sweet and as grumpy as ever.
And #1 son is doing fine.

The biggest CHANGE last month
was that Wayne, after 17 years at the same company, quit his job.
I won't say too much since I know people he used to
work with read my blog, but let me just say that...

September was HELL on us and
it is so wonderful having my Stanley back!

He has been at his new job for 5 weeks now
and he is at home a minimum of 10 hours more a week.
Stress free.

Well somewhere between June (above photo) and July of this year
my hair decided to get natural curls.

I've had arrow straight hair all my life
whether I've had short or long hair.

I like it.

I've also had a couple of non-serious
health issues I have been dealing with the last few months.
Many doctor/specialist appointments later...
all is looking well and it's nothing that
more sleep
continued clean eating
continued exercise
less work
and less stress won't cure.

I have promised myself to:
  1. Get back behind my cameras that have been sitting idle for far too long
  2. Get back to blogging - I miss it and my blogging friends
  3. To leave the monkey's at the circus when I go home
  4. To follow my HEART, my HEAD and my SOUL more
at the end of the day...

"Balance is not better time management, but better boundary management.
Balance means making choices and enjoying those choices."
~ Betsy Jacobson

There's always choices - it's whether you are prepared
for the consequences of those choices or not.

"If ants are such busy workers, how come they find time to go to all those picnics?"
Marie Dressler

Ants have never been accused of being lazy
yet they still always find time to go to a picnic.

"Being rich is having money; being wealthy is having time."
Stephen Swid

You have to decide what your personal time and sanity
is worth to you and what you are willing to risk losing if you don't have them.

"If you are losing your leisure, look out; you may be losing your soul."
Logan P. Smith

We all leave this world in the end...don't leave your soul behind.

Hmmm...all wise thoughts indeed.

Whoa, boy. Sounds like some stressful times over at your place. I hope this finds you in a better place...and on the road to peace.

Life is stressful. Joe and I just made the agreement to stop talking about work...to stop making it our lives....to find positive and happy stuff in everyday living and to forget what transpires between 8-5.

Here's to better days ahead with less stress!

P.S. LOVE the hair!! :) And I am glad you are back. You have been on my mind a lot lately.

So glad to hear from you, Catherine. I have missed you --and thought about emailing you, but decided that you needed that Blog Break!!!!! I did think of you and miss you.

Glad Stanley was able to quit and get a new job so quickly... Stress at work is the WORST for one's health and happiness... I'm glad you have your hubby back!!!!

What about you? Can you find ways of getting rid of the stress you are under at your job???? We all do need balance in our lives and we all need to find that happiness and time for US....

Again, it is SO good to hear from you.. Blessings to you, my Friend.

The hair! Mine got curly after my hysterectomy...I think it IS hormones.

Good for your Hubby to say "enough is enough"!!!! Scott quit his job (once) and it was SO scary while we found our feet and the new normal but honestly, it changed our lives utterly for the better. Tell him from me that I admire his gumption.

I've missed you!

Congratulations to Stanley on the new job! And congrats to you on your curls! It's so good to hear from you and I wish y'all the best. I love your quotes - I've been so busy, but learned I still need to make time for blogging (even if it's less time than before) for my own enjoyment. Stay warm!

Anyway I'm glad for you that things have settled down!
You can count on me if you need a word, ok? ;-)

I love curls, my hair was suppose to be total straight, but it has some movement (I can't exactly call them "curls')!

Welcome back! I'm so happy to see your post! Banjo is looking as cute as ever :-) Your hair! Such cute curl and you look fantastic!

Congratulations on the new job for your husband Stanley. It's a big decision to leave the company after long 17 years. How brave he is to go for a change and I'm so happy you are both happier now :-) I'm sorry you've been dealing with health issues. I'm glad it's not serious and all is looking well.
Love the quotes...especially the ant quote :-)

That would have taken an act of courage, for your husband to leave a job he'd been at that long, and at this stage of his life. Good for him! May his new job be all he hopes and expects it to be. :-)

Love your hair, it looks great! And I love the soft focus filter too (not being flippant). Did you ever watch the original Star Trek series, with all guest women being shot in super-soft focus? LOL. Much more flattering to them, I'm sure. :-)

Welcome back!

So glad to see you back! We've missed you! My hair is naturally wavy and I sure hope it doesn't change to straight! :) Yay for Stanley! This summer I left a job after 16 years working for a boss who made my life incredibly stressful and miserable. I am so much happier and I wish the same for Stanley!

Good for Stanley following his heart. Sounds like it was a very positive change.

I'm glad to hear that you are doing well.

This my last year at school surrounded daily by negativity and dysfunction and let me just say I am counting the days down til freedom and time is mine again.

:) Best wishes, Tammy
