Money Well Spent

when you are married to a 'Social Butterfly'
and could not possibly care less about socializing and partying
and it's -42c (-44F) out and it's Office Christmas Party time
and all you want to do is go home...

you slap a $20 bill in his hand for a taxi ride home
give him a kiss goodbye
tell him to have a good time and remind him
"don't come home a drinkin' with lovin' on your mind"...

cause this anti-social introvert will be
curled up in bed sleepin'
under an electric blanket
wearing socks...

just sayin'...

Stan is lucky I wouldn't have left the house in the first place. But the sweet wife you are you let him continue at the party while you (smart gal that you are) took refuge in the warmth of your home and bed. I bet the darling kitty joined you too.
Stay warm. Its frosty in Calgary where my daughter is too. Does it seem early to you for such deadly low temps right now?

When it's that cold it was nice of you to go in the first place! I just got an Edge so I imagine you had your seat warmers cranked up on the way home too! :) Hope Stanley had fun!

this brings to mind how grateful I am that hubby and I are so much alike and neither of us is a social butterfly..makes things easier... and i need the good stuff to remember when he does something that gets on my last nerve. love the photo. good job on the cab ride home

That's so funny. :) I am sure Banjo will enjoy a snuggle with you. Hope Banjo is keeping warm and safe.

Neither of us are social butterflies, but if we had to choose who is the closest it would be me. I have always thought of you as a social butterfly! :) There is no way I would have left the house in that cold! I'm with you. :)

It's me said...

Hahahaha.....you make me smile today...lovely Week love from me Ria ...x!

That would be me in bed, being all warm and cozy.

Haha, that is like me. Though, I probably won't go out at all 'cause I'm ultimate homebody :-)
Sounds it's really cold there. We are enjoying 60's F this week. But soon it'll be too cold to leave the bed! Stay warm and have a great new week!

I'd say you made the smart choice. This January weather in November is a bit much.

Hopefully the forecast is right and we're in for some warmer weather later this week...you should get it first.

Have a good week!

Thank you for that.
Hope Stanley had a good time! :-)

I don't think you are anti-social because you are an introvert. Quite the contrary from what I have been reading. We just like to have meaningful connections and we'd like to skip the banter. Amen, sister. I'd stay home too. But my husband would be with me---he isn't much on those parties either.

OMG minus forty something and people think Minnesota is cold....
I'm with Lin on the introvert analysis. I'd rather have a few real friends than four hundred on Facebook or the mindless crew at the office party...:)

But, did he listen to you? :-) My husband would know better to NOT too!

Dearest Catherine,
Well, with this kind of weather, even here in Georgia, I love to go to bed on time and curl up under the duvet cover! Don't blame you.
Hugs and stay cozy.

-42 already at this time? Even if I like parties, I think if the weather's like that, I'll choose to curl up in bed.

Heck, I don't even want to leave the house when it drops below 32F. Only difference is that I am in bed with socks but NO electric blanket as I have six of eight cats on and around me. Stay warm! Hugs, Janet
