Victoria - I Love You

I am back.

I once again faced my fears of flying
(including working through a panic attack just before getting on the plane)
and traveled back to Victoria.

Over the Canadian Rockies...

to beautiful Vancouver Island
and the Pacific Ocean.

All work stress, anxiety and tension vanished
the minute we stepped out of the hotel
and walked along the harbour pathway.

It felt like I was 'home'.
I think I'm meant to live there.

Touring the island with my best friend...

visiting a high school friend...
(Are you sure it's over 30 years ago that we
graduated Corinne? We don't look it...!)

and meeting up with blog friend Jaime.
(Who from blogging and meeting last September
seems like an old friend.)

We had a beautiful view from our hotel room
at The Beach Club Resort in Parksville.

and another beautiful view from our hotel room in
Victoria at the Inn at Laurel Point.

If it were not for my son and kitty
and missing them terribly,
I would still be in Victoria.

I love that city.
I know I will be back.

But today,
it is back to cleaning house,
doing laundry
and catching up with blog friends.

Happy Thursday!

You are bold and beautiful, and strong to face a panic attack. Seeing Victoria and your friends made it worthwhile. I was in Victoria once and like it a lot.

Welcome back! We're glad you were able to fly and had such a wonderful holiday. :-)

It's been decades since I was in Victoria, and it was only the once, but I have hazy memories of a very beautiful city. Reminded me of Halifax (I lived there at the time), only with better winter weather. LOL.

Loved your photos, Catherine. I spent a bit of time there back in the 80's. Beautiful, for sure. I'll bet you had a happy son and cat to greet you on return. Enjoy doing all that laundry. ;-)

Looks very worth your effort to confront your fear. Well done! Good to see you back again.

Vacations, trips...all fun and wonderfully exciting. But....ugh....the laundry chore after going back home!!

Love you photos, AND the beautiful smiles/friendships.

I don't know about you, but that seemed to go by quickly! I'm so glad you had a good time and hope the weather cooperated for you. I would live in Victoria too, if not for the isolation of being off the mainland.

Welcome Home,

Welcome back! Glad you faced your fears to enjoy a lovely holiday in Victoria! We were in Vancouver briefly on the 13th as we went from the airport to the cruise ship but it was fun being in Canada no matter if only for a little while!

Welcome back! Plane ride always makes me nervous, too. Glad you had a wonderful time! Such lovely place, all the photos look so beautiful.

Welcome home! It sounds and looks as though you had a wonderful time. Did you make it to Coombs to see the goats on the roof?

I envious, but it's only five months until I fly out to spend time in Parksville. Glad you were able to overcome your fears. I try to think of it as a bus, but with less traffic! Turbulence is just potholes in the sky.

You have done well to overcome your fear of flying and be able to look out of the window as well. Something I can never do.
Victoria does look a beautiful city and what a bonus to meet blog friends!

Dearest Catherine,
You look both very relaxed and one can tell you enjoyed your stay!
Happy laundry and other chores that are our punishment for having been away!

Oh, I'm so glad you had a nice trip! I know all about the flying thing--I'm like that too. I hate flying. I found that I do better when I go alone. I can't freak out, I have to be brave all by myself and that sort of cured me of the panic attacks.

I have never been to Victoria, but you make me want to visit there!

Wow--what an incredible trip you had. I'm envious since I have never visited that area.. It's on our bucket list for sure...

Can't wait to see more photos. Did you get to any of the gardens in that area????

P.S. Love the photos of you, my Friend. You look TERRIFIC.

Did you wave when you flew over us?

I totally understand your love of the Island...if I didn't love the Okanagan, and had family here, we would be living there.
