Laundry and Other Amazing Things

I'm always amazed by people
who on Monday morning back to work
talk about all the exciting and ambitious
things they did on the weekend...

Ted "I volunteered at the homeless shelter all weekend."
Carol "I cooked a 5 course meal for 50 relatives on Sunday."
Sally "I ran a 10k marathon and taught a yoga class."
Bill "I built a new deck and resided the house."

Me "errr...I did my laundry.  With
a little luck I'll have it out of the basket and
hung up in my closet by Wednesday..."

Hope your weekend was a productive one.

Oh friend, this is a cute post, with your laundry maybe put away by Wednesday. LOL, and you sound like me!

Okay, I need Bill to come here. Please. :-D

Well, I got laundry and the usual errands done. I seldom even vacuum on the weekends, I try to do that during the week, after work.

My former cubicle-mate and her hubby are like "Bill", though. They renovate old Victorian buildings they purchase (for rental units) and she (seriously) will work all day, renovate till late at night all week, and then do renos and other hard work all weekend, pretty much every weekend. She's a year older than I am, so she's not 20-something, either.

She scares me.

LOL.

lol...your weekend sounds much more relaxed. *grin*

What's with the blizzard today..? Yeesh. Enough already.

I'm guessing those over-achievers probably send their laundry out. ;)

Some weekends we are more productive than others. These days, it's washing down a room or painting...then scrambling to get some stuff done outside. It's all too boring to list, but I go back to work exhausted, so do I fit in that category with those people? ;)

Congrats on the laundry. Did you iron too?

I have coworkers who are very outgoing and active, and do many things. That is so amazing to me, but I know I'm not like them. My perfect weekend would be when I relax, nap and spend lots of time with my boys :-)
Hope you had wonderful weekend!!

Never underestimate the importance of doing the laundry. All those energetic people will be looking for clean clothes for work on Monday morning and it will be panic stations all round. XX

I much prefer your weekend!

Dearest Catherine,
No, my weekend was not like that of your co-workers either.
We went to Church today, I did cut the two lap-duvet covers but did NOT sew them together yet... Maybe by Wednesday?! But we walked for one hour together and that was bliss.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

Just how long are these folks' noses? I suspect Pinocchio-itis! Weekends are for RELAXING.

Well---that laundry HAS to be done, doesn't it???? People who work fulltime out of the home have to spend their weekends catching up on those needed tasks... Just think though---sometime you will get to retire and then you can PLAY on weekends...

Hugs,
Betsy

Ha-ha! You always make me laugh. Honestly, I was just thinking this morning how we are always on the go, go, go. Sometimes it is good to just be. And if all you accomplish is laundry, then so be it. I am loving Spring Break. I actually hate my job now. I love my boss. I love a few of my co-workers who make the day bearable. I'm so busy, I don't have time for much else. But I work for people whose thinking is based on life 50 years ago. There is no respect for my position. I don't make any money as it all goes back to the school because tuition at private schools is so high. Public schools are free but only for Kuwaitis. I love my free days, to do as I please. I don't even mind waking up early when I know I have the whole day ahead of me. But when it comes to school, ick! Best wishes for a great new week, Tammy

У меня два выходных дня в неделю и один день я обязательно ленюсь: читаю, смотрю фильмы и другие приятные дела. Люблю долго бродить в пижаме:) Мне такой день нужен для восстановления сил

What a cute and so very funny post, Catherine. Sounds much like my weekend. Went to Buddhist meeting, loafed around home, vegged out on some t.v., juiced and ate to my health. Cheers!!

Yikes - I didn't even get my laundry done - I spent the entire weekend outside. I guess I have some "house" work to catch up on in the evenings :)

Trust me when I say I'd love a weekend like yours! Three play dates and 12 over for dinner on Sunday night. That was just Sunday, Saturday was just as busy!

My weekend?? Ron had it off. We went for a couple of walks, went to the big city of Flin Flon for church and groceries and then had the boys over for a game of Catan which I won! So, wow...I did something on the weekend!

Nothing major here, spent some time with a friend, did some housecleaning....but the laundry didn't get done. Ooops, I guess there is next weekend. As for running a marathon...only if someone is chasing me!

Have a great week.

Sunday is a good day here for the dreaded laundry, Catherine. I start the washing machine and head out to a breakfast place. When I return, I load the dryer and take off on a walk! :)
