Still not talking about it...

Just showing it...

I took a walk this afternoon
winter boots
scarf
mittens
warm coat
camera in hand

looking at the beauty of it
pure white, fluff
listening to the sound of it
crunching under foot but falling silently
experiencing the feel of it
cold, yet melting on my face
taking in the smell of it
fresh, soul cleansing

sometimes you forget to appreciate it

it's hard to go a whole month and not complain about it
but then you remember that it's really not so bad
in the whole scheme of life

*sending out good thoughts and best wishes
to some dear friends who are
fighting the battle of their lives*

xo Catherine

It's lovely when it someone else's.

But you're right, it's not terrible, in the grand scheme of things. Just annoying and frustrating, but eventually to be gone.

did you process these in b&w or did they just come out that way? it is pretty. :)

At least it's pretty! Our flowers are thisclose to blooming after days of rain and now it's sunny blue skies. Come on over!

Yes! It's just weather. =) and I can't help but look out and think of how beautiful it is. =) and I was longing for winter - it's down time - me time. So, for me, don't end quite yet, please!

Best wishes for your friends!!!!! xxo

Simply beautiful.

Too much of a good thing, I say. I usually love snow, but this year, it is pushing my limits. I fail to see the beauty at this point.

Wishing your friends well. I have a friend who is battling colorectal cancer...and not doing well. :(

OK, I admit it--through your lens it IS pretty.

Anyone who lives where you do 'has' to appreciate the types of winters you have. Otherwise, you'd be depressed for months!!!!

I can't imagine THAT much snow for so long --and as much as I love snow, I'm not sure I'd love it so much if I lived up there... ha

It is gorgeous though --and Glad you got out for a walk. My blog and yours today are very similar!!!! ha

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

It's amazing that something so disliked can be so pretty. I guess the beauty factor was added to make it more bearable :)

Gorgeous pictures too, from here...where it's half-way warm right now. '-)

It is so very special those gorgeous snowfalls and the day after BUT week after week the digging out and when we lost power last Thursday night as trees and power lines fell.... enough!

I was thinking a similar thing the other day. It's so pretty and it smells so fresh and it's so much fun to play in, especially if you're my dog.

Holding your friends in thought and prayer.

Oh the beauty of snow. In a way I wish we saw more, but in the end, I'll take our early springs and long hot summers. Stay warm my friend!

I must admit that winter pictures are very beautiful but on Sunday we went from a plus 30 to a -40 wind chill and it was extremely hard to take. I have spent the whole day inside. I will need to climatize again.

From what I hear you are going through yet another cold spell, that's just about 5 too many this year isn't it? It's cold here, but nothing like you guys.
