I thought you said squirrels?

Oh yes - I did chase some 'squirrels' this weekend - but I took time out for some cats too:

  • By 1:30 pm Friday, Stanley and I headed 2 hours West where there was no snow and double digit temperatures!  Medicine Hat - my favorite 'get away for the weekend' city.
  • Shopping, nice dinner, movie and popcorn, lovely hotel room.
  • Saturday there was more shopping; a new purse, electric blanket, runners.
  • Sunday was all about snoozing and movie watching.
Today - a "Me Day" booked off work was spent by:
  • Brunch out with my friend Carolynn (A Glowing Ember)
  • A trip to Pet Value to visit and play with some SPCA kitties
  • An hour long Skype & Tea date with my friend Penny (A Penny For My Thoughts)
  • Trying to get Banjo to play with his new wind up kitty...he pretty much ignored it...

Do you ever take a "Me Day"?

Oh, I like your idea of skyping with blog buddies. We will have to do that sometime!!

I need a "me" day...work is crazy. But I can't do it until I get this damn project done. :(

Your weekend sounds delightful!

Dearest Catherine,
Not a Me Day but a Me Hour when I indulge in a bubble bath or so... But your recipe sounds lovely and anything with kittens would make my soul soar high.
That wind up kitty looks so cute but we know the feeling of anticipating happy kittens upon arrival at home but they almost shrug at it!
That's life...
Hugs,
Mariette

It sounds perfect Catherine. I haven't had a me day in a while, I really need to take one. I can always live vicariously through you though!

I think I need to. I have been a little too stressed out and really think a me day would be a good idea.

I try to have a day like that...every day. Some days are better than others, but the intentions are there!

My boys ignore most toys I get :-) When I go back to my hometown in Japan by myself (without husband,) I usually go to hot springs. And relax all day long...that's my favorite Me Day :-)

So glad you got away for the weekend. I can only imagine how much you loved it.

Two inches of snow here --and SO pretty. That's a FIRST for us this winter. BUT--going down to about 5 degrees (F) tonight... Gads.

For us kitties, everyday is me day. And our humans take way to many me days when they leave us for weeks at a time. Mom says your weekend sounds meowvolous and relaxing. Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Sounds like a well deserved break. Glad you managed to find some warmth. It's warmed up here...but still have 3 feet of snow in the yard.

My background is in social work - substance abuse counseling. That being said, you had better take a "Me Day." Counselors especially need to to prevent burnout. In the words of Billy Crystal, "You look maaaaaaaaaaavelous! Cheers!!
