Chasing Squirrels

I think it's good to chase squirrels when you can.

Now clearly I don't mean literally.
I like squirrels!
And those little critters are fast.
Who could keep up!

I mean like a dog being walked on a leash in a park
(your contraints of day to day responsibilities at work and at home)
when you find yourself with the leash off
(weekends and holidays)
you should chase those squirrels
(do the things that make you happiest)
as those squirrels might not always be there
(family, friends, time, opportunities).

Time is precious.
We know it, but we often forget it.

So if you are looking for me this weekend
I am doing exactly that...

Chasing Squirrels!

Happy Friday!

  5. It being a bit easier to chase them when it's not winter. :-p

Sometimes I feel like a trapped squirrel in a cage....

Anyway, I hope you're able to chase your "squirrels" to your heart's content, this weekend. :-)

  14. Have fun chasing squirrels this weekend. your picture reminds me of when my son-in-law decided to "talk" to a squirrel and the dang thing jumped on his leg and started clawing at his pants. He quickly threw it off. When he tells the story I laugh so hard tears come down my face.

  16. Great idea, I could have been cheeky and said we have a squirrel over here, [taking you literally ahem] that needs to be chased away...but he's finally left the area, and the birds can eat in peace.

  24. Dearest Catherine,
That is so funny... must be telepathy... Last night I got enamored again by the picture of our pet squirrel Eekie whom we had for only 6-½ week. He died the night after I'd knitted him a pouch from the left-over yarn of Pieter's woolen vest that I posted today... I did knit a square and sew it together after I'd folded it diagonally. Eekie went straight inside and before I went to bed at 11:00 PM he came out and talked to me... I found him in the morning after breakfast, he'd died inside his cozy pouch. So sad. He was the cutest pet I ever had and he rode on miniature Dachsshund Mauzie's back...
Cute photo of you interacting with those tame squirrels. Oh, they're cute beggars and smart!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  25. It's funny, for a quarter mile radius around us, there are no squirrels. So when I see one, you'd think I never had! So keep chasing Catherine, it looks so fun.

  33. Time is so precious. It really is good to slow life down and enjoy those special moments. We can be in such a rush to complete something that we don't enjoy the process. Enjoy your long weekend...talk to you tomorrow.

  34. I love the analogy! And, those squirrels are Huge! Crikey!

On the coast, they're so brazen, they chase You and have been known to run up pant legs in search of treats.
