Sweet Temptations

Oh the temptations of the season...

Christmas cookies are calling my name...

But I can't start yet!

12 noon Christmas Eve until noon Boxing Day
all food will equal
ZERO points in Weight Watchers...  ;)

Looking forward to:
Ginger Snaps
and
Short Bread
My 'MUST HAVE' Christmas cookies.

Luckily, it was Peanut Butter Cookies
that I baked this past weekend
(yuck...hate peanut butter cookies)
so they do not tempt me at all.

Do you have any 'must have' holiday season favorite foods?

Yup here in the Germano/Scandinavian Upper Midwest the essentials are lefse, lutefisk, klub, and rosettes, you betcha. Oh and my anti diabetes pills.

Russian teacakes are one of my favorites. That is one fun font that you used.

Anything that someone else has made, laden with fat and sugar, will do for me. :-P

i usually crave a box of chocolate-covered cherries. and usually buy one at dollar general. so ridiculously sweet, but i definitely hanker for it.

All food is equal during then?! It's a Christmas miracle! *grin* And, speaking of cookies - did you know that all the calories leak out if you break them apart? *wink*

Enjoy all the sweetness of the season.

Had a nice service for Dad Adams yesterday --and got to see many old friends and family members. We also enjoyed a family lunch together. Dad is in a better place now… Thanks be to God.

Peanut butter cookies are one of my very, very favorites, I would have to have at least one, or maybe two... Quality control ya know! :-)

I have to make shortbread, it's a must. But although I love making it I tend not to eat many, they are mostly for sharing with family and friends.

I do love Christmas oranges, After Eight mints, and the whole Christmas dinner. Oh my I think I gained five pounds thinking about it!

Love the cookies and milk, the glass jar is so festive!

Dearest Catherine,
The only typical Dutch/German food is a Christmas stollen. Filled with almond paste and very sweet. I no longer can have it but we got one at home for Pieter to enjoy slice by slice with a cup of coffee!
Your photos are wonderful!
Hugs,
Mariette

Mom loves the shortbread. At Christmas, she likes to make a lemon frosting to dip an end in and then coat that with chopped walnuts. Last year, she even bought the shortbread from the bakery and then dipped. Just as delicious as homemade. She loves how you decorated the mason jar glass and all the photos are exceptional. Chocolate chip cookies, magic cookie bars, homemade peanut butter & chocolate bars, warm ginger bread cookies, my mom's iced box fruit cake, sweet potato pie and must I continue?! LOL We do a lot of baking for the holidays. :) And I really need to drop 10 lbs but it can wait until January 2nd. :)

Your photos are very pretty! And tempting :-) This is such a dangerous time of the year. My office is filled with cookies and candies and they are calling me! Short bread cookies are my must have, too!

Oo I love all holiday treats…unfortunately! Always make peanut brittle and fudge this time of year along with cookies! Yum!
Ha…sorry I just read your latest post and had to smile…ah the trials and tribulations of being a photographer! Sounds like something I would have done. :-)

Craving cookies now, and feel free to send those PB ones my way, love them. I'm making fudge this year to give out as gifts. Last year I did cookies but so many "Christmas" cookies are labor intensive and I just don't have that patience. So this year, fudge it is.

Enjoy your weekend together.

Those cookies look yummy! Except all the chocolate chips are on one side of the cookie! More chips needed me thinks.
