Photographed Reminders

when Mother Nature grants you
a beautiful fall day
you take your camera
and you get outside

you want to capture it
greedily keep it all for yourself
you want to take this golden day
and put it in a jar

to be opened on a winter's day
when you just can't take the cold anymore
and need to be reminded that summer and fall was here
and will certainly come again

not to worry
lady bug was put back
right where I found her

photographed reminders
will have to do

I would love a summer day in the middle of winter...and a winter day in the middle of summer. Seasons are a good reminder of what you have and what is on the horizon.

Oh Cat, I know you dread winter with good reason. I hope that it won't be so bad this season. Love your photos.

Lady birds as they are called here are my one and only favourite insect. I still recite the rhyme we all said as children when I see one.
'Ladybird, Ladybird fly away home.
Your house is on fire and your children are alone'
Horrible rhyme when you think about it but I am too old to stop saying it.
You photography is amazing. XX

A splendid example of Summertime warmth and beauty. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tuck the wee lady within treasured memories...she shall be drawn out again amidst a snowstorm surely.
Sending hugs your way...

The first shot is my favourite too. It would be interesting to speculate what the ladybug "thought" about his/her adventure as a model. :-)

I've never seen so many ladybugs as I have on our property this year. That's gotta mean something good, right?

I had an awesome time on Saturday!

Blessings,
Carolynn

In the depth of winter I open my archives and sink ankle deep into a mass of flower petals, green stems, brilliant colors, by scrolling through the images that I have taken the season before. It keeps me sane, and remembering that yes, summer will return.

Love your macros... That first one is EXCELLENT. We had a swarm of Ladybugs in our front yard one year (March I think)... Some of them got in the house. It was a mess getting them OUT.

Hugs,
Betsy

Your photos are stunning. Our mom loves ladybugs as they represent good luck. She has a small one tattooed on her back so that she will take luck with her wherever she goes. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
