For The Love of A Pet

Thank You to everyone for all the
love and concern for Banjo!
You are all simply the best!

So,
$895 later... (ouch)
I am very happy to report
Banjo's hypothyroidism levels are back in the normal range,
his pancreatic levels are lower (still not normal),
and his infected tooth is out and he is eating well.

I have to continue with his two medications
and take him back for re-tests again in a few months.

I love my cat

It's an outrageous amount of money to charge, though the estimate for a regular cleaning (no extractions) for Derry started at $900 last spring. (Which is why I didn't have it done.)

So glad that Banjo is doing well, though! :-)

Dearest Catherine,
Above all, I LOVE that quote towards the end; that says it ALL!
We will go all the way for our fur-babies and may God grant you to enjoy Banjo for quite a while. He is so lovely and he is SO loved...
Maybe after all his condition is not as severe...
Hugs,
Mariette

Aww, Banjo. I'm glad you're on the mend.

I know it is expensive, but I know it is worth it too. Glad he is on his way to recovery!

Lin said...

Ouch.

We do it because we love them. I can't begin to think how much I have spent on my animal friends over the year. One time, I had a $1000 bill for a specialty eye doctor for a cat! Ugh.

I hope Banjo is doing better now that he is home. Poor guy.

Great news! So just wondering how you knew Banjo had an infected tooth? Fetzer has been chewing his food kind of funny.

I'm so glad Banjo is getting better. We called Smudge our free $3000 cat. Even though he was a stray and we got him for free, between his broken leg and a zillion fights, we paid thousands for him. Worth every penny.

Great to hear Banjo is on the mend !

Sorry I missed the earlier post. Good to hear that Banjo is doing well, and got over the trip to the v e t with spirit intact!

I dread every time I walk into the vet's office, because I know it is going to cost a minimum of $450 or so it seems. Thankfully these three are healthy.....knock wood.

Have a great week!

You have a very beautiful cat and hope you are successful in giving it the medications--it can be difficult to say the least. It's good that infected tooth is out though.
