And That's All I'm Saying About That

Quote from Sense and Sensibility:

Marianne: And as for you, you have no right, no right at all, to parade your ignorant assumptions...
Margaret: They're not assumptions, you told me.
Marianne: I told you nothing.
Margaret: They'll meet him when he comes, anyway.
Marianne: Margaret, that is not the point. You do not speak of such things before strangers.
Margaret: But everyone else was.
Marianne: Mrs Jennings is not everyone.
Margaret: I like her. She talks about things. We never talk about things.
Mrs. Dashwood: Hush, please. That is enough, Margaret. If you cannot think of anything appropriate to say, you will please restrict your remarks to the weather

Comments Off ~ as I am a Grumpy Cat today and do not have anything appropriate to say nor do I wish to talk about the weather...

Scenes From A Neglected Garden

I never clean my garden up in the fall
to get it ready for winter.
I leave it for spring.

Then in the spring, I'm mad at myself for
not cleaning up my garden before winter
and vow that I will clean it up in the fall this time.

It appears that I will once again be
mad at myself again come spring...

*shoulder shrug*

For The Love of A Pet

Thank You to everyone for all the
love and concern for Banjo!
You are all simply the best!

$895 later... (ouch)
I am very happy to report
Banjo's hypothyroidism levels are back in the normal range,
his pancreatic levels are lower (still not normal),
and his infected tooth is out and he is eating well.

I have to continue with his two medications
and take him back for re-tests again in a few months.

I love my cat

How To Explain Something To Your Cat

How do you explain to your cat
that he doesn't get fed this morning...

that he can't eat because he is
going to the Vet's today...

that there will be tests for his hypothyroidismpancreatitis
and that he is getting a tooth extracted...

how do you tell him it's NOT
going to be a very fun day for him...

and that he has to do it all
on an empty stomach...

how do you explain all that
to your kitty?

Perhaps he will clue in
when he sees the dreaded, evil, pet carrier.

Banjo goes in at 7:30 a.m. this morning
and I can't pick him up until 3:00 p.m.

It's going to be a long day...

Tucked In Warm and Cozy

It's that kind of Sunday
where one should stay tucked in bed
all warm and cozy.

Wishing you a happy cozy Sunday!

Choice and Consequence

I've always liked the quote;
"The certainty of misery is better than the misery of uncertainty."
It's so true isn't it?

Why is it easier to stay standing on our rock in the pouring rain
than to venture out and look for sunshine?
Is it because we think it's probably still raining at the next rock?
Are we scared the next rock will be smaller?
Perhaps it's because we are scared we won't find another rock.

We make our choice to stay standing on that rock
and so we have to accept the consequences it comes with.
We will continue to get wet.

It snowed here yesterday...
just a bit and it melted as it landed...
but it was enough to make me wonder
why I choose to stay standing on this rock...

A Bit of 'Nice' on Wednesday

Having some place warm and cozy to sleep is nice...

someone to share it with even nicer...

And I'm Happy and Thankful for That

It's hard to believe that we are celebrating
Thanksgiving already here in Canada.
How did it get here again so fast?

I am thankful for:

  • Being able to enjoy a week with hubby in Banff and Victoria this year
  • My family being healthy and happy
  • Good friends
  • Having a good job
  • A roof over my head and food in my cupboard
  • Lovely blog friends

And an update on the David Cassidy concert last night:
if you could ignore the fact that
he looked VERY 'rough around the edges',
that he was clearly under the influence of something
and that he only played for 1 hour (what????),
as long as you kept your eyes closed and didn't watch him,
you could imagine being back in the 70's listening to him.

I am Happy and Thankful to report that he can still sing!  :)

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!

Have a beautiful long weekend!

I Think I Love You

No, not Stanley
(I know I love him)

No my friends,
I am talking about my FIRST TV star childhood love
David Cassidy...
a.k.a. Keith Partridge from the Partridge Family

I am going to see him in concert tonight
with my friend Corinne!!!!!
And have not been more excited for anything
in my whole entire life!!!!!!!!

you can point of the fact that
he recently got arrested for a DUI
and we can talk about the fact that
he is 15 years older than me
and that he's had
more 'nips and tucks' on his face than Joan Rivers
and that he can NOT hold a candle to my
younger than me, silver fox Stanley...

But the fact is he still represents
a part of my childhood that I took refuge in.

He was the boy that was there for me
after a day of getting bullied and/or
having no one to play with at recess.

Watching him and his family on TV.
Listening to his albums and songs on the radio.
These are bitter sweet memories for me.

So tonight I look forward
with much anticipation, excitement and joy
to seeing a boy from my past
that helped me through a very hard part of my life.

Thank you David Cassidy for being there...

Photographed Reminders

when Mother Nature grants you
a beautiful fall day
you take your camera
and you get outside

you want to capture it
greedily keep it all for yourself
you want to take this golden day
and put it in a jar

to be opened on a winter's day
when you just can't take the cold anymore
and need to be reminded that summer and fall was here
and will certainly come again

not to worry
lady bug was put back
right where I found her

photographed reminders
will have to do

Inspiration...where are you?

maybe it's the post-holiday 'back to reality' life
maybe it's the continuing loss of daylight hours
maybe it's the waking up to the cold

whatever it is
I am lacking motivation and drive this week

I think I shall spend time looking for inspiration this weekend
