Now THAT was refreshing...

Hello dear friends!
I am back.

It was a combination of
Calgary and Banff for me.

We're not in Saskatchewan anymore Toto...errr...Stanley...

Gosh...
how are you supposed to see anything with all those
trees and mountains in the way?

(you can take the girl out of the flat prairies but...)

Ahhh yes....
fresh air
wilderness
hiking
camping

what?

camping???
NO camping for this city girl!

My idea of roughing it was having to
deal with bad cell service in the mountains...

5 star hotel please!!

Well...maybe not 5 stars...
we're not rich you know...

How about a 4 star Holiday Inn with a
really really nice spa bathroom?

Mmm...yea...
now this is MY idea of a vacation...

no work
lots of walking
lots of site seeing
fantastic wilderness
the beauty of nature
alone time with your best friend
shopping
and spa-like accommodations

a girl could get used to this...

I love the room, and do love camping.

That's my idea of camping too!

What a lovely holiday; welcome back!

that is the only camping i would do for sure. i might stay in a cabin but it must have nice beds and AC and indoor plumbing... stunning views plus a spa, nothing better.

Oh you lucky, lucky girl. The scenery is so beautiful, but that bathtub, oh my. I would love to stretch out in that!

Oh, I guessed wrong, but you made the RIGHT choice! Beautiful. My idea of camping is a Motel 6 with a leaky faucet. :)

Wonderful scenery and that bathtub is impressive.

Yep, that looks like one heck of a good time!

Yes, I could get very used to that bath... Glad you had fun and have a great weekend, Catherine!

Beautiful scenery! That's the only kind of camping I'd do too! When we moved from Kansas to Colorado my dad used to always say the mountains got in the way of the view and now here in Oregon he says the trees do! LOL!

I used to like (not love) camping as a kid. Maybe that's because that's how we vacationed and I didn't have anything else to compare it to. Now that I'm an adult, it's no camping for me, either. That's some bathroom! And, the shots of the evergreen covered rolling hills and snow capped mountains...*sigh* Gorgeous. So glad to hear you had a great time away and that you're feeling refreshed.

Welcome back!

Wow what a breathtaking view! I can almost feel the fresh air just by looking at your poctures!
And how nice the spa batheoom is. You can relax in the tub after long walking...ahhh, must be like heaven...:-)
I would pick hotel instead of camling, too. I'm kind of scared of the idea of camping, even though I'm not quite a city girl :-)
Glad you had wonderful time!

Wow! Fabulous holiday indeed!

And that scenery is breathtaking. And yes, i totally agree about the camping thing. I mean totally! A tent? Bahahaha! Not so much. Beautiful bathroom, btw!

You wouldn't have to twist my arm to get me to take a vacation like that. Glad you had a good time

Dearest Catherine,
Ha, I had guessed not bad what you would be up to. Who had the money for Lake Louise? But your Spa looked quite invitingly and that with the wildlife, enough fresh air and walks; minus the camping (I am with you on that one too!) is pure bliss = double bliss for both of you.
Hugs,
Mariette

Wonderful! The scenery is phenomenal and so very different from the prairies. :)

So beautiful! Yep, I could get used to that. My husband and I are off to Dubai tomorrow for two days. Nice to just get away. And then maybe, maybe, I can get back on track. Finally summer vacation has begun and boy do I need it! Best wishes, Tammy

Stunning scenery, stunning bathroom. I love snow capped mountains, not that I ever see any around here.
The last snow capped mountain I saw was in Italy about 30 years ago. I was camping at the time, you are wise to insist on a hotel and NO camping.
