Don't Feed The Goats

Mountain Goats at the top of the Mountain.

A sign posted about 1 meter from the goats...

See?  Right there.

They don't want humans feeding the wildlife
in order to keep them wild and afraid of humans.

Hmmmm.....

Hey Goat!  Quit eating the
paint and wood of the gondola terminal!

Well...at least they are feeding themselves.

Luckily there were no signs like these...

I wonder what it is on the wood that's so tasty.

They look pretty scruffy when they moult, don't they?

What a terrific sight!

Those goats look half starved! Probably just shedding, but still...kinda skinny!

Ha ha ---Looks like someone needs to feed the goats if they are eating the paint off of the building... Love it...

Wish I could ship ALL of our Chipmunks (we have hundreds) to you.. they did holes in our flowerbeds and eat our bulbs... They drive us crazy --even if they are 'cute'..... ha

Hugs,
Betsy

That's too funny Catherine, great photos of the goats!

I hope that's not lead paint! yikes!

Animals choose the oddest things to eat. I do hope the paint is non-toxic.

They're looking a bit scruffy. Must be losing their winter coats. I'm surprised they let you get that close. I'd say, they're not too afraid of humans anymore, in spite of the signs.

Dearest Catherine,
Oh, goats eat almost anything. But the sign is understandable as we cannot make them too dependable on human food. During harsh winters they would no longer be able to fourage on their own.
Glad you enjoyed it so much and nature is always being very rewarding.
We got just a heavy thunderstorm here and yesterday was a day of tears... Banjo has another feline friend living in heaven now. Will post about her tonight.
Hugs,
Mariette

I would've fed the goats since they shouldn't be eating paint!

Holy, those guys are rough looking. I remember seeing many when we would holiday in BC. I miss those days.

well I've heard that goats will eat anything. I'm sure that paint he's eating is so much healthier than anything you could have fed him...lol

Glad there are no signs of no feeding chipmunks :-) Feeding them looked so much fun!

The goats look like they could use some feeding. I do wonder what was so tasty in the paint.

Great photos!

I have never seen those mountain goats up close and personal. sandie

Perhaps tourists can feed them in secret, maybe behind the shed. They do look a bit hungry. XX

If that's all those goats had to eat, they could use some human help. It's not as if you'd have to have them eat any offerings out of your hand. Just saying, we'd be pretty unhappy if all we had to eat was wood and paint. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

Too too cute. And you know you can't keep me from commenting even when comments are off: there are no words for perfection. You captured it without saying anything.
