Choices For Your 24 Hours

I stumbled upon the following quote 4 times this week:

"Stop the glorification of busy."

Love it!

It's so true isn't it?

We all have 24 hours in a day
and can choose how to use them.

It seems to be competition
to see who's the busiest.

Friend: "What are you up to this weekend?"
Me: "Not too much.  Just relaxing."
Friend: "Must be nice! *with sarcasm* I have to 'this', 'that' and 'a million other things'...and then I have to...blah blah blah blah..."
Me: "Hmm.  Sucks to be you."

I felt no shame in admitting I wasn't busy.

I've got plans for the weekend
and it does not involve me
running in 10 different directions.

We all know the old saying
"All you HAVE to do in life is eventually die,
everything else is a choice."

It's a four day long-weekend for me.
Today booked off from work
and Monday is Canada day.

I plan on enjoying every single second of it.

Wishing you a weekend full of lovely choices!

xo Catherine

Wonderful quote! It does seem to be a badge of honour for so many, to be endlessly "busy."

I have a lot of errands this weekend, which is time-consuming because I don't have a vehicle, but I do my best to ensure I have lots of down time (usually a nap!) too. LOL.

Happy Canada Day weekend!

i gave up busy Sept 29th 2006 when I retired and walked out of the door of a job that kept me in front of a computer 10 plus hours a day, the stress was killing me and from that day forward a big load was lifted from my shoulders. it is a great quote for those that are way to busy, even retirees are running themselves ragged

I love both of those quotes and they are so true.

It's gets far worse when you retire and your retired friends want to tell you that their busier now than when they were working. Yuk!!!! I always give them my most stupified look and say "but you'r supposed to be retired" i.e. relax and just take it easy and do what you want when you want...:)

I love the quote very much! And I love being not busy, not having any plan. I love to relax and be lazy, and that makes me happy.
We have long weekend coming, too, the last 4 days of a week. I hope you enjoy your long weekend!

Good for you! The other day, i felt guilty for not being busy, and as you say, everyone i ran into was doing a 'gazillion' things. So i made a super long to do list, and accomplished some of the things, but not all. But no more being busy for its own sake for me. Done with that. This weekend is for relaxing, and doing 'nothing' if i so choose! After all, relaxation is something important! :D

Love that quote! My boss's identity is that she's always busy, has time for nothing fun and works 7 days a week all year long so she thinks if we aren't 'busy' we're lazy. I prefer to call it sane since life is too short to be busy to enjoy it!

Great Quote. I love to read and my pet hate is when I mention a book I have read, am reading or intend to read the reply is "oh I'm too busy to read". XX

Catherine, I'm in there like a dirty shirt...have some friends that are perpetually overwhelmed with "busyness" and think it's a contest.

It's so And besides they can win if it is.

Lovely to be back, and thanks for visiting.

Happy Canada Day! you're right. we don't need to prove to anybody how "busy" we need to be. I always thought I might be lazy and then I thought no, I just like to enjoy life a little more than others. :)

Now I LIKE this attitude! I've got a friend who is constantly telling me how busy she is. I get so sick of it. I can't remember where I found you but I'm keepin' you. Thanks for the fun post.
