Choices For Your 24 Hours

I stumbled upon the following quote 4 times this week:

"Stop the glorification of busy."

Love it!

It's so true isn't it?

We all have 24 hours in a day
and can choose how to use them.

It seems to be competition
to see who's the busiest.

Friend: "What are you up to this weekend?"
Me: "Not too much.  Just relaxing."
Friend: "Must be nice! *with sarcasm* I have to 'this', 'that' and 'a million other things'...and then I have to...blah blah blah blah..."
Me: "Hmm.  Sucks to be you."

I felt no shame in admitting I wasn't busy.

I've got plans for the weekend
and it does not involve me
running in 10 different directions.

We all know the old saying
"All you HAVE to do in life is eventually die,
everything else is a choice."

It's a four day long-weekend for me.
Today booked off from work
and Monday is Canada day.

I plan on enjoying every single second of it.

Wishing you a weekend full of lovely choices!

Safe and Sound in Southwest Saskatchewan

when Mother Nature decides to release her wrath
nothing or nobody can stop her

Thank you to all of you who have asked if I'm safe - I am!

It's hard to believe that less than a week after vacationing there, Banff, Canmore (and surrounding areas) and Calgary Alberta were hit with devastating floods.

Although Medicine Hat, just a short 2 hours away is bracing themselves for the waters to hit this evening, here in Southwest Saskatchewan we are OK for now.

Lives lost, homes destroyed, peoples lives changed forever
but we must focus on the good.

Following are photos and links of a young man who risked his life to save his beloved cat, Momo.

Not to worry - Momo the swimming kitty and sweet young owner are safe:  the story

Sending love and good thoughts for
those who have been affected by the flooding

And for those bracing themselves for it ~ stay safe!

How do you show or describe perfection?

Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada.

water like glass
the true color unable to be captured
the beauty indescribable

Don't Feed The Goats

Mountain Goats at the top of the Mountain.

A sign posted about 1 meter from the goats...

See?  Right there.

They don't want humans feeding the wildlife
in order to keep them wild and afraid of humans.

Hey Goat!  Quit eating the
paint and wood of the gondola terminal! least they are feeding themselves.

Luckily there were no signs like these...

Take a deep breath and...

Did I ever mention I hate heights?

Banff Gondola
2,281 metres (7,486 feet) above sea level

Sometimes you have to just
take a deep breath and do it.

I would have missed all the Chipmunk fun
if I hadn't rode to the top!

Happy Monday!

Making Friends

I found that if you have a pocket full of
sunflower seeds (unsalted!) at Banff
you can make a lot of friends...

I wonder if I would have gotten in trouble
bringing home a pocket full of chipmunks!

Now THAT was refreshing...

Hello dear friends!
I am back.

It was a combination of
Calgary and Banff for me.

We're not in Saskatchewan anymore Toto...errr...Stanley...

how are you supposed to see anything with all those
trees and mountains in the way?

(you can take the girl out of the flat prairies but...)

Ahhh yes....
fresh air

NO camping for this city girl!

My idea of roughing it was having to
deal with bad cell service in the mountains...

5 star hotel please!!

Well...maybe not 5 stars...
we're not rich you know...

How about a 4 star Holiday Inn with a
really really nice spa bathroom?

now this is MY idea of a vacation...

no work
lots of walking
lots of site seeing
fantastic wilderness
the beauty of nature
alone time with your best friend
and spa-like accommodations

a girl could get used to this...
