This is Ridiculous

Just as we started thinking spring was upon us
it snowed yesterday...

the robins are wondering
where spring went...

they are puffing up
trying to stay warm...

luckily there are some
left over berries on the trees...

what had teases of green
is once again covered in white...

the bunny tries to stay warm
cuddled underneath the cedars...

he gives old man winter
the one eared salute...
since he does not have hands and fingers...
if you know what I mean... :)

the weather is inconsequential to
indoor kitties....

but for us humans
and outdoor critters
this has become ridiculous...

oh my, what is old man winter thinking? poor little robins and rabbits were ready for spring. hope this is the last of the snow for you. love all the photos

The photos are lovely, of course, but snow in April, while not unusual for most of us here in Canada, is just adding insult to the injury of an already overly long winter.

BTW, there are flurries in the extended forecast, for Friday, and that had BETTER change to all rain by week's end!

Oh no!!!! It's 95 degrees here today. I'll give you 20 degrees to warm things up and then it will be perfect weather here. Ha! Warm wishes, Tammy

Oh my, snow again, Catherine, that's really ridiculous !
I think Spring has arrived here finally, it's warmer and yesterday we had a nice sunny day ... I'll send you some sunshine ...

Enjoyed reading your opinion in your previous post ... I gained back weight :-( I've eaten to much chocolate, I'll have to change this, better get started ...
Hugs to you and Banjo,
Sylvia

Looks like a day we had last week when we had a surprise snowstorm. It was here one day and gone the next and spring is upon us now for certain... FINALLY! xox

It missed us, but we still have plenty laying around! Cheers~

Oh no! We have 70's this week, I am ecstatic!

It's disheartening, isn't it? *sigh*
At least we were greeted by bright skies those morning, in spite of the frigid temperatures.

You have some amazing captures of the robin & the bunny! Swoon. So gorgeous.

Looking forward to getting together again soon and sharing a laugh or two at Old Man Winter's expense.

Dearest Catherine,
Can't believe this... Poor fluffy birds and rabit for having to fight the elements. Your KING Kitty Banjo looks very posh!
Hugs,
Mariette

Ann said...

Oh I'm so sorry, that just isn't right. The bunny is perfectly justified in giving his salute

Linens and Royals said...

More snow? Wish I could send some of my sunshine. You will have to snuggle up to Banjo for warmth. XO

Mary said...

Oh no! That really is not fair at all. Ick. I wish i could send you some of the Springtime we have here. (I sure would if i could.) The little robin looks chilled to the red belly! Kitty looks cozy and comfy though. :) I hope that crap melts fast!!

Naturegirl said...

Catherine: I'd say ridiculous for sure!!! I have to say that here in southern Ontario the snow has melted and April showers began today. I hope it does't turn into a freeze overnight! Ok we are ready for Spring.
Love your photos! The Robin in the first photo looks like it's chin feathers are frosty! What must they be thinking! What is Mother Nature thinking!!!

BeadedTail said...

I will never complain about the rain again! Well, at least not much! :) The photos of the robin and bunny are fabulous! Of course Banjo is looking extremely handsome as always!

Love the images. Winter has definitely been reluctant to make way for Spring this year. It finally felt like Spring had arrived with us this weekend and despite the rain and thunder storms that are expected this week my mood is elevated. One eared salute, thanks for the giggle.

Lin said...

Oh NO! You did NOT have snow again!! :( Ugh.

I hope that is the last of it for you and that warm weather and sunshine is around the corner. It finally is getting warm here every couple of days and it is heavenly. I'm sure it is coming for you.

Beautiful photos ... Winter does not want to give up. You have a lot of snow.

Robins aren't the only ones wondering. This is riduculous.

When will the madness stop. So sorry to hear you got more snow. I would say hopefully this will be the end of it, But who knows...

We promise you that spring really is coming. It snowed here four days ago and yesterday was and today is 80 degrees. Mommy doesn't like temp swings like that, but too bad for her. We're sunning on the screened deck. The robin and rabbit photos are exquisite, Mom said to tell you. I experienced 10 glorious days of Spring on the west coast, and came home to winter. Love your bunny and robin photos!

Wow!! I feel so bad for you all!

Oh, man!
I thought for sure by now you would be out of the white stuff! It can't go on forever though.. anytime now, the green is coming.

That is such a beautiful rabbit!!!!!!
Love him.

Oh, so sorry... we've got flowering cherry trees, tulips and daffodils... hope your season turns soon...

This is crazy; I do hope you get some spring weather soon. It seems it has skipped spring here today and gone right into summer.....Such a cute bunny...

Lúcia said...

It doesn't matter if it's spring or winter, the cute animals still love your garden. :)

Catherine: Seems typical for the end of a harsh winter! Hang in there. Spring and Summer are surely ahead!

Laurie said...

I'm right with you Catherine! Ridiculous is an understatement! I cautiously optimistic that the snow is finished here.
Your photos are amazing, once again! I really covet your camera!!

Becca said...

Oh I do love these photos Catherine despite your winter wonderland. The robin and bunny shots are wonderful! Oh, and of course Banjo always makes my day! Hang in there my friend! It's rain, rain and more rain here, but lots of green and dots of colorful flowers. Sending you some. :-)

Splendid Little Stars said...

ridiculous is right! Our weather is all over the map!
one eared salute!

That robin looks mighty fat. I wonder if it's pregnant. (Is that the right word for egg-laying birds?)

lovely captures!

Tails from the Foster Kittens said...

LOVE!!! the bunny shots!! so beautiful.

Btw, you do not have to worry about global warming. Yes, some will be harmed by it, but many more will benefit from it.. fewer people will freeze from the cold.. I read a book on it and it made a lot of sense/

What a beautiful snowy backyard. =)
I feel so badly for the puffing up robin. Poor thing isn't used to all that cold white stuff.
Glad to see a warm, toasty feline inside, though.
We had an ice storm here. Thankfully, where I lived, there wasn't a major power outage. One of my co-workers, though, had no electricity for almost 12 hours.

Sarah said...

Those poor robins. I haven't seen any yet. Your yard must be warmer :)
