Desperate in Saskatchewan

As we head into month number six of winter...
I am so desperate for a little bit of SpriNg...

that I was squealing with delight to see my
first gopher of the year!!

Wayne and I headed West for the weekend.

Only 2 hours away in Medicine Hat Alberta
where not that it was that much warmer
but most certainly no snow to speak of.

This little guy would have to dig up
through at least 3 feet of snow here in
Southwest Saskatchewan!

But on the bright side
we don't change our clocks in Saskatchewan...

I must try to find the sunny side amongst all our snow...

Have a happy week my friends!

Wondering how much it piles up and where on all that flat land with wind...? Some years ago the Missus and I camp in Sask. on our way to Lake Louise. Our tent blew over and I recall scrambling out expecting to see an approaching rain storm. Not to be. Clear skies, lots of starts and big winds...:)

What a sweet picture, definitely a beautiful sight to see! Here where I live, because we are on the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border, and because almost everyone here actually works in Manitoba, we actually do change our time and go by Manitoba time and not Saskatchewan time... strange eh, perhaps we are the only SK town that does that because of our situation! Cheers~

We received about 8 inches yesterday, maybe more. It will be gone soon with the warmer temps we are expecting.

Jealous you got away for the weekend! But happy for you. :)

I was over the moon to hear a robin singing early yesterday morning, when the boys first went out. We still have plenty of snow, all of it crusty, dirty banks. On the up side, we had +7 or so temps this weekend. Nice. :-)

Hi Catherine, stopped in for a visit after reading about your weight loss plan on Sandra's MadSnapper blog and it looks like fun. My exercise plan is to go to the local YMCA several times a week. I too never could work a hula hoop, but maybe it's worth another try. No gophers here, just muskrats. Please drop in for a back door visit anytime.

What a cute gopher! Fun way to feel spring :-)
I wish we didn't have to change clock. Niko wanted to stay in bed when I had to get up this morning. But I think he didn't mind having early breakfast :-)
Have a great new week!

Cute little gopher! I like changing our clocks cause that means we have more evening light! (But don't like the morning darkness though)

I could never figure out why we have to change the clocks... I'm a morning gal and I hate hanging laundry in the dark.
I'm surprised you didn't have Wayne pull over and pick up that little guy!
Spring is on its way just stay positive.

How nice you don't have to change time! We got up at what used to be 2:40am today for the gym. YUCK!

lol! (I love your little message about having no word verification... those stupid pictures are driving me crazy.. some of them you can't tell what the numbers/letters are!!!)

Month 6 huh? I feel for you .. I really do. I'm going a little stir crazy with the rain, and I love rain! I can't imagine what I would be like after 6 months of snow.
Strong, you are! Tough as nails!

I wish we didn't change clocks. So unnecessary!

Good to see you again. :)

One thing I really don't like here is the time change! Lucky you! Sunshine and some warmth on my bones would be so welcome right now!!

We don't think we could live in Canada and Mom knows she could not. We had some snow and flurries yesterday but nothing much. We saw our first ground hog on Sunday. We thought that was pretty great. We are sending you warm thoughts. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at www.thecatonmyhead.com, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

Have you ever wondered why they named that place Medicine Hat? What is that all about, I wonder?
