Back on the Crack

Do you have the addiction?
To pretty paper and office supplies?

I've tried real hard to stop buying it.
I went quite awhile.

But alas,
upon walking by Staples this morning
what did I see but
Martha Stewart Home Office Supplies
for sale at .47 cents each...

.47 cents plus another 75% off???
That's 12 cents!
And as Canada no longer uses the penny,
that is rounded down to 10 cents!  :)

Well you know I couldn't walk by it.
Leave it there sitting in the sale basket.
I had to buy some.
Just a bit.
$1.30 worth.

Oh the joy...
the feel...
the smell...

Now if I can only resist the temptation
to go back and buy some more...

Please do not judge me...

My Shame

Yesterday morning I had an 'aha!' moment.

I was mad at the car wash guy who was taking so long
(well not really...but it seemed that way to me)
to reset the car wash stall that I was waiting to drive in to.

As I sat there with thoughts of how incompetent he was,
getting madder with every moment that passed,
he turned to me, smiled and waved and motioned me to drive in.

His smile was genuine.
He was doing his best.

All of a sudden,
an overwhelming feeling of shame came over me.
I smiled and waved back and mouthed 'Thank You' to him.

For the rest of my day as I ran errands,
I made a conscious effort to
'be kind'
to everyone that helped me.

After all,
most of us are just trying to get through our day
and are doing the best that we can.

adj. kind·erkind·est
1. Of a friendly, generous, or warm-hearted nature.
2. Showing sympathy or understanding; charitable: a kind word.
3. Humane; considerate: kind to animals.
4. Forbearing; tolerant: Our neighbor was very kind about the window we broke.
5. Generous; liberal: kind words of praise.

Snow? Makes No Matter To Me!

Well as you can see,
poor Puss n' Boots bird feeder
is up to his neck in snow.

But none of that snow matters
when after 2 looong weeks
you are finally starting to feel 'normal'
and it's Friday night
and you have a whole
3 day weekend ahead of you.

Hooray "Family Day" Monday!

The first thing on my agenda for this evening?
Kicking back and catching up with all you lovely people.

See you shortly!

A Day of Love

Monday is 'Family Day' here in Saskatchewan - a long weekend!  Woot woot!

I am still not quite up to par yet (oh this is a nasty one my friends!) but I am looking forward to feeling well enough to:

  • Go out on a photo shoot - I need photos!
  • Getting back to regular blogging and catching up with everyone
  • Organizing some closets (really? I'm looking forward to that???)
  • Getting down to my craft room and crafting
  • The endless possibilities a long weekend holds...

Wishing for YOU a day filled with LOVE!

Comments Off - Enjoy!  :)

It's still foggy here...

I am hoping my head will soon get out of this fog...
and that my energy comes back to me soon...
so tired...

Hope everyone is keeping healthy!

Speaking of Doctors...

Well HELLO my dear friends!!

here I am
back in the land of the living...

I have been in bed for the last 3 days
fighting a cold/flu type bug
he snuck up on me last Thursday
(the lack of sleep did not help I fear)
but did not knock me to the ground until Sunday

oh he is a nasty little critter  :(

but to the doctor's this morning
medication for sinus infection
it will be back to work tomorrow

six pounds lost
copious amounts of tea drank
3 boxes of kleenex used
20+ hours of movies watched

and with too many hours of
daytime television watched
comes the confirmation that Dr. Oz
is a bit of a quack...
(alas I suspected as much)

on to more productive things...

back to the couch
ipad in hand
tea and Banjo by my side
to spend the day
reading and catching up
with my lovely blog peeps...
