The Next Meal

It's hard to wait for the next meal...

Banjo starts watching his timed food dish
about 20 minutes before it's set to open.

he stares
he paces
he waits
sometimes he stands on top of it
sometimes he tries to open it with his teeth
and finally it opens
and he's off like a bullet

2 minutes of video speeded up to 28 seconds

please ignore the fact that I haven't vacuumed for awhile... ;)

  2. Hahaha! Is that how you got him to lose weight? Hobbes really needs to lose. It's just hard because I have Grace who is too skinny (and elderly) and I hate for her NOT to have food available. Ugh.

  3. Poor Banjo! We feel for you having to wait for your foods but our mommy giggled at you jetting towards your food. Humans are weird. We did love seeing your handsomeness on the video though!

  5. That is too cute! The horses are exactly the same at feeding times, although - thankfully - they don't actually stand on their feed buckets. (Champ did put his foot in his once though ;o)

  14. I'm going to have to figure out how to speed up video too.

My boys certainly relate to Banjo. Though with me, they get antsy for food about every 2 - 3 hours when I'm at home. Drives me crazy. You'd think they never were fed! LOL.

  16. That was funny! At my house, I am the timed food dish, and the cats try to open me early by meowing and generally bother me. I am immune to their frustration. Most of the time.

Where did you get Banjo's timed food dish?

  17. this is hysterical. i love it!!!! to funny and i can't stop laughing. animals are so smart... we feed our two dogs at 3 pm, that started when we both worked and did not want to feed them and leave them for 8 hours in the house. they both start about 20 minute to 3 pestering us.. pacing and waiting. we say not yet, they lay down, 2 minutes later they start again. we used to feed them at 4 pm. over the years it got earlier and earlier.

  23. Ha-ha-ha! That is hilarious. He's pacing the floor until he can shoot like a bullet over to that dish. Jingles just eats whenever she wants. When I was away one summer, my husband bought one of those big storage dispensers because he traveled while we were gone and wanted Jingles to have access to food without having to find someone to come check on her. She only eats when she is hungry, but boy oh boy does she let you know when the container is nearly empty. She will meow and meow and lead you to the kitchen over and over and over until you fill it back up again. She does the same thing with her water dish.

The outside kitties know my car. When we come home from school and they see me round the corner, they all coming running for food.

And some people don't think animals have brains or feelings. Silly, silly people!

    Best wishes, Tammy

  25. That's too cute, love the music...he's actually pretty patient. Where is the constant meowing, and moaning? The howls of discontent...

That's what comes from our kitchen.

  29. Dearest Catherine,
Oh sure, cats know about time! This is hilarious, love him taking off like a bullet and looking at his Mom; pleading for help... What type of cat feeder do you have; would love to know more. Since we now keep our Spooky indoors that would work perfect.
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  32. LOL that is so funny. Kind of how I feel when I don't have any snacks in the cupboard. Only difference is mine don't magically appear like Banjo's food does

  33. Thats too funny. My cat paces all the time as well. If we are even near the kitchen she is meowing to let us know she wants food. And most of the time her bowl has food in it.. My husband says shes just a nervous eater. She just wants us to watch her eat. Poor old gal...

    Hugs~

  40. That's hilarious!! Our cat is quite similar but it was our beagle who would start at least an hour before feeding time. Just standing in the middle of the room staring at you, waiting. And it was a real pain with Daylight Savings time!
