Shout Out, Nobody's Talking and Eeeek!

Another weekend gone.  The last week of November is upon us.  How has that happened?

A big SHOUT OUT to Carolynn from A Glowing Ember who now only lives a 'hop skip and a jump' from me!  It was wonderful to meet you in person last week.  Thank you so much for the beautiful cards you gifted me.  And, thank you for the Skinny Peppermint Latte from Starbucks!  My treat next time... at Tim Horton's??  ;)

And... I am sad to report that I have had one Christmas decoration casualty.  I did not actually see who broke it and not Hubby, Son or Banjo are confessing to it.  They are remaining silent... covering up for each other I think... hmmm...

The next nine days are going to be busy.  I leave for Regina today for work and will be home Tuesday night. A department party Thursday night.  Wayne's office Christmas party Friday night.  I have 5 assignments to do for a class that I am taking that have to be done before I write my final exam by the end of the day, Monday, December 3/12... EEEEK!

Wishing you all a terrific last week of November!

Decorating, Date Night, Getting Old, Project Me

Oh yes,
it finally arrived
the day of decorating my Christmas tree...

I actually started yesterday afternoon
(hooray for only working until 1:30 p.m. on Fridays!)...

But I had to stop and get ready for
Friday night 'Date Night' with Stanley!
Which we usually do but this Friday was special.
We had tickets to a concert featuring the band
Honeymoon Suite.

I have my original ticket stub from 1985
when my girlfriend and I went to see them.
It cost me $14.50 and included the band Glass Tiger.
The new one cost me $25.00.

Look at that 80's hair!
The band's and me and my girlfriend's... LOL!
And enjoyably they sounded just like they did back then.

But there's nothing like seeing a band
that you listened to 27 years ago
like a blast from the past
to remind you of how old you are getting...

the 80's hair is gone
(mine and the band's!)
there's wrinkles
there's grey hair
there's age spots
there's progressive glasses...

but I am MUCH healthier
I'm happier
I'm smarter
I'm more comfortable with who I am...

and thanks to
20 months of
Weight Watchers
a treadmill
Just Dance 3 for wii
Zumba for wii
a weighted hula hoop
the Suzanne Summers Thigh Master
I did NOT have to photoshop my butt for this photo!  :)

(I can't believe I'm posting that photo...but yup...there it is...)

Project Me
I refuse to take this getting old thing laying down...

Thought For The Day

Comfortable cat perch to
sit on at the front window to
watch the world go by...

Electric food dispenser that
automatically gives you your
meal every 6 hours...

Electric water fountain that
continuously flows to give you
fresh water whenever you want it...

In-between meal snacks
from the dishes in the
kitchen sink...

Always having a warm place to live,
fresh water to drink
and knowing where you next meal is coming from...

It runs in the family...

HEY!  The neighbour beat me.
Her tree and lights were up yesterday.

The funny part is
this neighbour happens to be my cousin.
Clearly, putting up your Christmas tree early
runs in the family...LOL!

4 more sleeps and I put mine up.

On a non-related note...

My 3 newest teas:
Chocolate Cake
Cookie Dough
Salted Caramel

Happy Tuesday!

sNOw fun

Winter came...

it will be awhile before any
birds have a bath...

under there somewhere
is my Ford Edge...

the whole day was not spent
keeping cozy under a blanket...

I shoveled the sidewalk and driveway
(our driveway is about 30m or 100ft long...)

on the second round
I was thankful Kurtis got home to finish...

sometimes a person forgets to stop long enough
and watch the beauty of the snow falling down...

don't get me wrong...
winter still sucks the big one!

Let the shoveling begin...

winter storm warnings out for
Southwest Saskatchewan...

up to 30 cm
(12 inches)
we are at about 10 cm already...

tis a good day for having the day off of work
of which I do have on this
Remembrance Day long-weekend

that's 4 days off

I predict a lot of movie watching and snoozing this weekend  :)

Wishing you a safe, warm and happy weekend!

What's Your Point?

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own 'greatness'
thinking we are so very significant in this universe...

not realizing that we are but a tiny little speck

surrounded by other tiny little specks

just trying to get through the day...

and you wonder

"What's the point?"

I think I lost my 'point'
and I'm trying desperately to find it...

or maybe I just need a vacation...

I Like It!

  • My sweetie will be home in a few more hours
  • There's no snow
  • 14 more sleeps until I put up my Christmas tree
  • I only have 3 1/2 days of work next week
  • Banjo and I are curled up cozy and warm

I like it!
