Here I Go Again!

I'm heading for Burnaby British Columbia on Sunday.
Work ~ not pleasure.

OK... well maybe a little pleasure.
After all, I'm going with my
friend/co-worker Corinne.
(The gal that looks after Banjo for me when we are away.)

Flying twice in one year?

I won't be home until late next Friday.
Thanksgiving weekend for us Canadians!
Will I come home to snow????

I will miss my boys
(hubby, son, kitty)
and I will miss you my bloggy friends!

I will have my ipad with me though
(FaceTime with my boys!)
and will peek in on you when I have time.
(Who can sleep in hotel rooms?  Not me!)

Wishing you all a beautiful last weekend of September
and a terrific start to October.

I will post next weekend...
in-between my turkey and pumpkin pie...

Can it be true?

The last week of September
quickly slips away.

All my garden trinkets
have been put away in the shed
for another year
to sleep away the winter.

The Farmers Almanac predicts the first snow for the
Canadian Prairies by the end of the 1st week of October...
ummm....THAT's NEXT WEEK PEOPLE!

Who are these 'farmers' and
what are they smoking while writing up these predictions?

I am crossing my fingers that they are wrong!

Groan....

This is me getting ready to go back to work today after 3 weeks holidays.

Please forgive me...
I am wallowing in my own self-pity.

As it's all too sad to deal with ~ comments are off for today.

Flowers, Technology and a Question

"Why don't they give us things we can actually use?
I don't need a thinner phone. You know what I need?
I need a tortilla chip that can support the weight of guacamole!"
~ Ellen DeGeneres on the iPhone 5

So, they made the iphone5 thinner, but it's now taller.
How is that better?

Is anyone else sick of the technology rat race?

It's a little nippy out!

It's Monday
It's only 1c outside (33F)

Makes a gal want to crawl into a cozy warm spot for the day

Wait!

I'm still on holidays!

I think I shall cozy up back into bed
under my electric blanket
with my cup of tea
and my ipad...

:)

Too Early For Christmas Talk?

Hello my lovely friends!

Here I am...
back in blogland...
4 days and 2000 kilometers later.
(1240 miles for my U.S. friends)

A BIG tip of the hat to those of you from Billings Montana
where everywhere we went: shopping, restaurants, hotel
we could not have asked for better, more friendly, more professional service
(OK...except for Mr. Frowny Pants Waiter at the Olive Garden...
would it have killed you to smile just once???)

I would suggest that many of the service people
from my city of Swift Current Saskatchewan
could take some lessons from you all!

Your gas is less expensive
Your restaurant food is less expensive
Your service is better

Your hotel prices were the same
Your clothes prices were the same
But you have no taxes!!
(What's up with that you lucky people!!!)

But...
we have Tim Horton's and you do not...
man I missed my steeped tea
(Starbucks...ummm...yea...no thanks...)
and we have mandatory motorcycle helmet laws
distracted driving laws,
and free clinic and hospital care.

Then we made a jaunt over to Great Falls Montana
where there was many fun things to do and see.
What a beautiful city!

So let's talk about Christmas Decorations at Hobby Lobby...
Ok boys... just drop me off and come back for me in a few hours...
LOVE THAT STORE!!!!

(9 1/2 weeks until I put up my Christmas tree...)

Now...
off I go to catch up with all of you lovely people...

Still 10 more days of holidays left!!!  :)

P.S. A big Thank You to my friend Corinne
for looking after Banjo while we were gone...
and for cleaning up the cat puke on the carpet...
I owe you!!  :[

Pure Bliss ~ Wild Cats

As the sun set in the Saskatchewan prairie sky on Friday evening, Wayne and I headed out to stay over night in Medicine Hat Alberta to begin our Anniversary weekend.

We were up bright and early, to travel on to Calgary Alberta, and were standing in line at the Calgary Zoo as the doors opened at 9:00 a.m.

Some women may be looking for something more exotic and romantic for their anniversary weekend, but not me.  A weekend spent with my hubby/best friend and a visit to the Calgary Zoo to see the three new baby tigers was pure bliss to me!

How can anyone look into those eyes and harm such a beautiful creature?  It's hard to believe that we are estimated to have less than 500 Siberian/Amur tigers left in the wild.  Humans have not been kind to these animals.

To see these three little sweeties when they were first born check out "Zoo Borns".

To check out Siberian/Amur Tiger Facts: National Geographic or The Animal Spot
