Scenes From An Unweeded Garden

Rain
Wind
Tornados
Hail

When's a person supposed to
get out to their garden to weed?

Happy Thursday!

Living in The Moment

I'm a worrier
I obsess
I take things to heart too easily
I do the 'what ifs'

That's some of the reasons I very seldom watch the news

I try hard to live in the moment but it takes practice and a conscious effort every day

It's a choice I think

This is my current "sing it loud - makes me happy - click repeat 3 times" song by Jason Mraz "Living In The Moment", and in particular these two versus:

I will not waste my days
Making up all kinds of ways
To worry about some things
That will not happen to me

I'm letting myself off the hook for things I've done
I let my past go past
And now I'm having more fun
I'm letting go of the thoughts
That do not make me strong

If you have time to listen to the whole song:

And you?

Do you live in the past or the future too much?

Or do you live in the moment?

Wishing you a happy Tuesday!

HOME ~ be-a-u-tiful!

I'm HOME!

Wayne, when growing up, lived in the same small town and the same house until he was 23 years old.

I lived in all 3 Prairie Provinces, 6 different towns/cities and 12 different houses by the time I was 23 years old.

We went 'home' to Wayne's childhood home town this past week.  Although I was born in the same town, (moved away when I was 8 years old), and lived there again for 2 years after Wayne and I got married, I do not consider it 'home'.

I think there is a difference between 'going' home and 'coming' home.

I can not 'go' home as I have no childhood home to go to.

I am not that person who dreams of traveling to exotic places.  Of getting away to different countries. Being gone for 3 days is my limit.

I am that person who can never think of any place she would rather be more than HOME.

And my HOME is right here ~ where I am right now.

Coming HOME is be-a-u-tiful!

That's The 'Wow' Factor

Do you watch Storage Wars?
Do you know what the "Wow" factor is?
That's when you buy something for cheap
and it turns out to be worth something.

Oh the joy of finding a good deal at the thrift store.

A teeny tiny tea cup
that I will put amongst my garden trinkets
50 cents.

A pretty crystal jar
same pattern, different shape from another one I have
75 cents

A colorful kitty and fish serving bowl
not a chip nor mark on it
$2

Stamped from Nova Scotia
and signed Catfish Moon
hmmm... that must mean something

Got my treasures home
googled the name
and sure enough
it's a studio in Nova Scotia

my dish cost $65!

Now that was a good find!

Happy Sunday!

Hey Grumpy Cat ~ The Answer

So why was Banjo Mr. Grumpster at me?

He doesn't get to go outside very often.
Maybe twice a year.
And this is the main reason why...

Sit and enjoy the warmth and the sunshine Banjo.
Watch the birds and sniff the air.

Don't eat the grass Banjo
it always makes you barf.

Banjo...
Quit eating the grass or you will be sick!

You know that is just going to end up
on my floor afterwards if you eat too much...

If you don't quit eating the grass Banjo
I'm taking you back inside!!!

ENOUGH!!!

OK, that's it.
You're done!

Come on Mister!
Back into the house you go!

That's what happens
when you don't listen to me.

See?
I told you!

Stay on the linoleum Banjo!
NOT ON THE CARPET!!!

Why oh why must you kitties
always purposely go into the only room with carpet to barf
when you have a whole house full of
linoleum and laminate flooring to choose from???
Huh??
Why?
And you must puke in 3 or 4 different spots.
From one end of the carpet to the other.
Is it to purposely drive us bonkers?

Sparing you the visuals...
that is when I told Banjo
that he had better of enjoyed his
5 minutes of summer
because that's all he was going to experience
for the rest of the year.
No more outside time for him.

Cry at the back door all you want Banjo.
You are not getting out.

And that is where the Grumpy Cat came from below.

Now technically,
no one guessed why Banjo was mad at me.
But,
S. Stole and Kittykye's answers
of not being allowed to chase the birds or the bunnies
did involve being outside,
and Forever Foster's answer of
was I singing to him
made me laugh
because I do get that look from him
when I sing,
SO
if all three of you want to email me your addresses
I will send you a little something
for playing along!

Thank you to everyone who gave an answer.
That was fun!

Well...
cleaning the carpet was not fun
but playing the game was.

Have a Happy Friday!

Banjo was mad at me yesterday.
In fact, he was down right grumpy.

Banjo was Mr. Grumpster yesterday?

my garden is weeded
but not to perfection

my house is clean
though I still see dust

my laundry is done
a stain on one shirt

my camera got used
for bug photos only

the sun shone all weekend
yup... it was a good one

Hello June

Hello June!

You are the month for:
  • Taking the chance of finally planting my flowers.
  • Hope of consistently warm weather.
  • Morning tea outside on the patio.
  • Too many weeds in my garden.
  • A trip to Manitoba to visit the in-laws.
  • Grasping onto before 1/2 the year is gone.

Wishing YOU a beautiful June!
