It's All About Me

Do you ever give yourself a

"ME" weekend?

Both son and hubby are busy all weekend.

I will basically have the house to myself for the next two days.

(well...I guess kitty will be here with me...ha!)

I have big plans for myself:

Long hot baths

Laying in bed watching movies

Catching up with blog friends

Get creative in my craft room

Taking myself on a photo shoot

No house work.

No laundry.

No making meals.

Nothing.

Me me me...

Do you ever spoil yourself?

Do you think it's selfish?

I don't know.

I truly believe that you must

take care of yourself in order to

properly take care of others.

No?

I Wish I Had A Magic Lamp

Coming back into the city during a country drive a few weeks ago,

Wayne and I came upon a new suburb just outside the city.

It appears someone is building my 'dream home' where I can

have a heated barn to keep all my adopted menagerie of animals.

And look where it is being built!

Stanley Road!!!

Well that just makes it seem like it's meant to be doesn't it?

Now all I need is about $750,000 dollars and I am set.

Heck...let's say a cool million which will give me some cash to build the barn.

Perhaps I need a Magic Lamp for wishing on!

OK...

I have mentioned my love for The Waltons quite a few times on my blog.

(The Waltons Would Be Shocked - 1st mention)

And it appears I have mentioned it once or twice at work too because

some sweet co-worker left on my desk for me to find yesterday morning

a cute little book of The Waltons!

(I've asked around, no one will confess!)

Yup...that's what I need,

a magic lamp.

The whole family is in the book ~ I LOVE IT!!!

Honestly...

I want to go live with them.

Loved the Grandpa!

I have the DVD collection

and I watch the reruns on TV all the time.

Maybe not "Keith Partridge" dreamy but still...

So sending a big Thank You to

whoever left this book on my desk for me to find.

Now...

if only someone would leave that

cool million laying on my desk for me to find

Bubble Time Is NOT Fun Time

I'm So Confused...And What's The Answer?

Another dump of snow yesterday afternoon/night...

Well it's all so depressing isn't it?

But how joyful to see the first true sign of spring.

The return of the Robins.

There were over 20 in my yard yesterday afternoon.

I know little bird.

The weather is so confusing isn't it?

Not to worry.

It's melting today.

And the answer from yesterday's question

on which of my four statements was a lie?

1. True, I really was hit by a car when I was little with the driver taking off.  Not to worry, except for a bit of bruising, I was OK.

2. True, I really did total my mother's car off from playing 'chicken' when I was 16.  Not to worry, no one was hurt and I totally learned my lesson.  And no, no alcohol was involved.   

3. LIE, I did not spend the night in jail after doing doughnuts on the high school football field.  That was my girlfriend.  And her car was bigger than mine!  LOL!  I really wasn't as 'wild' as some of you thought.  Ha!

4. True, I did not stick around for a good night kiss after Wayne and my first date.  Even though we did hold hands that night, I was too nervous to stick around to see if he would kiss me.  Not to worry, we kissed on the second date and haven't stopped holding hands or kissing since.  ;)

Lead Me Not Into Temptation

Wayne and I went shopping in Regina on Saturday.

So many

lovely

wonderful

I don't have one with a cat and a bird on it

journals at Chapter's.

But I resisted temptation and simply bought

a little package of cute speckled eggs.

Such a

sweet

loveable

needs a forever home

shelter kitty at pet value.

(Don't you love pet stores that help their local Humane Society?)

But I resisted temptation and simply bought

some Cosmic Catnip Bubbles for Banjo.

Such a treasure of

beautiful

expensive

that looks like just the right size

purses at Dutch Growers.

But I resisted temptation and simply bought

a cute little bird house bird instead.

Happy Friday Friends!

When the Doctor Says "I'm so sorry but..."

Following up from "Ouch!  What was that?"

on how 'life as you know it can change in a heartbeat'...

Last Monday Wayne went for his quarterly routine cholesterol tests.

Less than 24 hours later,

the Doctor's office called wanting him to come in immediately.

His CK (creatine kinase) levels were extremely high

showing he was having muscle deterioration.

He had to go the hospital for a bunch more tests

with an appointment to find out the results yesterday afternoon.

Needless to say...

it was a very stressful week.

Being the "what if", "worse case scenario" kind of gal that I am,

my mind was spinning.

What if I lost the love of my life?

What would I do without my best friend?

How would I go on without my Stanley?

What would become of me?

Would I become a recluse?

Would I start to collect too many cats

and become a crazy cat lady hoarder?????

Fast forward...

there was a mix up at the hospital lab...

(are you kidding me...)

I am VERY happy and thankful to report that

my Stanley is as "healthy as a horse".

All his tests were 'normal'.

Well be assured the 7 days of worry

have taken a toll on us

so we have made plans to

'take some time and smell the flowers'

this coming weekend

and will try to keep front of mind

how quickly life can change.
