To Party or Not to Party...

Here we are on the cusp of 2013.
In less than 30 hours we start a new year.

You got plans for New Years Eve?

Are you putting your 'party hat' on?

Or are you laying low...chillin' out...taking it easy...?

Me?

Being the 'wild and crazy gal' that I am,
I am sure I will be in bed sleeping by my usual 9 pm.

Sometimes I hate being predictable.
Predictable is safe.
Predictable is boring.

Don't you sometimes just want to
put that party hat on and give it all you got?

I've been trying to think of my word for 2013.

My 2012 was 'Courage'...
airplanes, hard conversations and Project Me.

Perhaps 2013's word should be 'Change'?

I'm ready for some Change...
but not too much...
I still enjoy things and people being predictable...

Wishing you a very Happy New Year
and everything you desire for 2013!

i prolly won't be in bed by 9pm, but i'll definitely be staying home... the world is too crazy for me, esp on a night where drinking is sooo wide spread... too many drunk drivers! =0

love that party hat lil guy/gal! too cute =)

good luck with picking a word!

Predictable can be good, then you always know what's happening... but then again sometimes we have to "live a little dangerously" and embrace something different... wear red instead of blue, drink soup from a mug, or leave off the panties when you wear panty hose because panty hose already have a pair of panties built in and wearing the extra layer will just make us look fat! LOL! Have a great New Year! (love the little chick pic) Cheers!

How about Chocolate as the word for 2013? Whether you play it safe or live on the wild side, I hope you have a happy new year!!

'Change' is a very good word! I feel like so much of it has happened to me because I've had courage in the past couple of years, too. Now, I feel like I'm settling in and I don't want to - I don't want to stop growing. I want to LIVE! =] I mean, live MORE! =D

Look forward to finding out what you settle on. I can never do anything like make a promise or pick a word at the new year - it's the wrong part of the year for me to do that realistically. Actually, the word or resolution usually finds me and I just observe it's happening. =/ ;)

Whatever! =] I know that I'm cheering you on, my friend! =] Best wishes for you for whatever the new year brings!

I've run across a number of people picking a 'word' to emphasize their coming year... interesting concept... hope you pick just the right one.

I've been predictable for too long too so change is my motto for 2013. Now if I can get the courage up to actually do the big changes I want to! :) Happy New Year to you!

Dearest Catherine,
One word did fill a LOT for you over 2012... May your Courage last into 2013 and I trust you find another meaningful word.
Wishing you and your family members; two- and four-legged, a healthy and a Happy 2013!
Hugs to you,
Mariette

I'm not much of a party girl these days! I'll be lucky if I make it to 10pm
Wishing you all the best for 2013!

Happy New Year!!

I like some change and I always look for it in the coming year. I'm working hard on thinking about what I'd like to change and so far, the only thing I've got is that I don't want to live my job. It's been consuming me lately and that is not good. Now...if only I can get them to pay me better too!

I wish you good changes in the coming year, my friend.

I have to get up for work at 0530...so I'll prolly beat you to bed!

How about "Explore" for your word of the year? It's less scary than "Change", I think.

Happy New Year!

Will probably visit my sister and my mother who is living with her, pull out the Srabble game and just chill!
I'm having a hard time deciding on my word for 13, this year was Faith. Happy New Year to you also Catherine!

We're old foggies... We don't go out and party EVER--especially on New Year's Eve. We will stay up though and watch the ball fall in Times Square... AND--we'll share some wine or eggnog or something at midnight... SO---we will do our own celebration, just here at home.

Happy New Year.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sometimes I want just to do something wild and crazy - not sure it is partying on New Year's Eve!

Donna said...

Ha, well my party hat is on and Brian and I are heading to Caseys for chinese food, hopefully. Don't know for sure if we need a reservations?

then we head home to watch a movie
that is our Happy New Year!

We as a family are very predictable when it comes to New Years.

If you like Chinese food, come join us?

Happy New Year. Predictable is good. Even though Sydney has one of the best new year firework displays in the world I will still be in bed early with a good book and a couple of cats. X

I was up until midnite last nite waiting for my son to come home and that was the latest I had been up in quite some time. Even when we are on holiday, I still usually make it to bed by 11 p.m. Turns out, I tossed and turned the entire nite and didn't get a wink of sleep. That's what happens you break out of routine. Predictable is good for most people -- I prefer a nice, comfortable routine. Wishing you all the best! Tammy

We've done the partying thing in the past but this year we are staying home and chillin' out. It's going to be cold and foggy so not a good time for travel.

Change is good, I like change once in awhile. Predictability is good to a point but it can get dull. have fun in the coming year.

Happy New Year!

I've never been a fan of change and I do like predictable. No party hat for this old girl, I'll be lounging in my party pj's with a little white westie in my lap. Did I mention I also like boring...lol

Fuzzy Tales said...

I'll probably be in bed before you, Catherine. LOL. It's been a long time since I've bothered to stay up to see the new year in. Don't think I could manage it anymore! :-)

Wishing you the very best in 2013.

this will be our 28th sleeping in the new year together. we will be asleep when it slips out and back in. think opposite of party animals and you have us... whatever that might be. i make no resolutions and take each day as it comes and realize that our days are numbered and the number drops by one each day... enjoy life while we may, and i do and i believe you do to.

Our big plans for the evening will be a turkey dinner. We were invited out for dinner at Christmas and didn't enjoy the benefits of all those leftovers. This will be a quiet meal, just the two of us - no pressure, no stress. We might stay up until 10:30pm, if we watch a movie after dinner. *grin*

In my youth, I went to big New Year's parties and it wasn't long before I made the discovery that they are highly overrated and ultimately lead to disappointment. They're ripe with expectations and I would inevitably end up feeling as flat as the cheap champagne they served at midnight. No parties for this girl. Maybe next year...

Love your word. I'll be announcing my word next year. *grin*

Cat, glad to have "met" you through blogging. We will be doing our usual stay home at night, bed at 10 routine, not boring to us at all.

It's that late night hangover I wish to avoid...lol.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year!

I'll be going to a friend's annual New Year's Eve open house. I'll stay until shortly after midnight and then head home to bed.

In order to get through the evening I'll be sure to have an afternoon nap, lol.

All the best to you and your family in 2013. Good luck finding the right word!
