Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own 'greatness'
thinking we are so very significant in this universe...
not realizing that we are but a tiny little speck
surrounded by other tiny little specks
just trying to get through the day...
and you wonder
"What's the point?"
I think I lost my 'point'
and I'm trying desperately to find it...
or maybe I just need a vacation...

There are times I think that way...definitely time for vacation! Just last night, there was a ladybug in our house. I had to chase it out of house before my kitties catch and eat it!
Then there are those days when you are all too aware that you are just a speck. :) That's where I'm at these days--tired of the struggle of the life of a speck. I wanna be a RICH speck so I don't have to work to pay bills and other assorted boring stuff!
I need a vacation too. Sigh.

I admit it's been decades, probably my teens, since I thought of humans as "great," and I never have thought of myself that way. Of course, that, too, has its own set of problems. LOL.
But it wasn't until about 40 or so that I realized life *is* intrinsically meaningless (IMO), but that doesn't mean we can't create meaning for our Selves.
I'm still working on that one. But I think we do that through following our bliss, if we know what that is, or being in service to something other than our petty selves--to non-human animals, to humans, the environment, whatever speaks to us. And through kindness and compassion, as His Holiness the Dalai Lama advocates.
So while life just is, we still can make the time we have here meaningful to ourselves and to those around us.
That's all we have, and all we can do, I believe.

i have been searching for my point for a while now. i hate not having a purpose or a goal or a dream.
That happens to me all the time. Then the "point" comes to me and wakes me up out of a dead sleep at 2 in the morning. What the heck!!

Even that little speck of a bug has a purpose. We all do. But a vacation is also a good idea!
I have moments of greatness, but for the most part, I know I'm not a major player. I love ladybugs! How did you find one this late in the year?

I've been thinking pretty much the same thing lately. I know for sure I need a vacation and maybe you need to take one to, let's say, Oregon! :) Your photos are gorgeous by the way!

I have the same dream I've been struggling to carry forward since the 6th grade. I've achieved some, but not all of it. Thank God I'm still at it!! It keeps the child in me alive!!!
