Decorating, Date Night, Getting Old, Project Me

Oh yes,
it finally arrived
the day of decorating my Christmas tree...

I actually started yesterday afternoon
(hooray for only working until 1:30 p.m. on Fridays!)...

But I had to stop and get ready for
Friday night 'Date Night' with Stanley!
Which we usually do but this Friday was special.
We had tickets to a concert featuring the band
Honeymoon Suite.

I have my original ticket stub from 1985
when my girlfriend and I went to see them.
It cost me $14.50 and included the band Glass Tiger.
The new one cost me $25.00.

Look at that 80's hair!
The band's and me and my girlfriend's... LOL!
And enjoyably they sounded just like they did back then.

But there's nothing like seeing a band
that you listened to 27 years ago
like a blast from the past
to remind you of how old you are getting...

Yes,
the 80's hair is gone
(mine and the band's!)
there's wrinkles
there's grey hair
there's age spots
there's progressive glasses...

but I am MUCH healthier
I'm happier
I'm smarter
I'm more comfortable with who I am...

and thanks to
20 months of
Weight Watchers
walking
a treadmill
Just Dance 3 for wii
Zumba for wii
a weighted hula hoop
and
the Suzanne Summers Thigh Master
I did NOT have to photoshop my butt for this photo!  :)

(I can't believe I'm posting that photo...but yup...there it is...)

Project Me
I refuse to take this getting old thing laying down...

Who knew dancing and hula hoops can do that to a body! Great job! I had wild 80s hair too! Is Banjo helping with your tree? :)

You look fantastic!!!! What an encouragement that I too can get back my body I left behind. I agree about the smarter comment, what I'd give to have that and go back to do it all over again. Only I'd like to see The Police on that one, not that Honeymoon Suite weren't sweet back then too.

You look amazing Catherine! I am so impressed with your drive to be healthy at any age. I'm afraid mine got lost a long time ago.

Have fun decorating!

You look really fantastic, Catherine! I can't show my butt like this, it's too huge! Maybe I need Project Me, too! But I'm with you about "I'm happier." I'm older with wrinkles and age spots, but I'm happier :-)
Great post! Yay!

I kind of sort of had 80's hair but it took a ton of hairspray and it still always ended up going straight and flat on me.
You look fabulous.

Girl you ROCK!!!! Oh my gosh you look great. Way to go, now pass the hair gel.

PS: We saw Honeymoon suite at Expo 86? in Vancouver, they were just hanging around playing their songs on stage, nearly swooned when we figured out who they were, lol.

Way to go Catherine! As is said, age is only a number, it's what we do when we age that reflects our value of life! Love the hair shots... reminds me of mine! lol! Cheers.

LOL...I suffered bad hair days through my entire year of Grade 10 high school and wore a head band every day in an attempt to deal with it. I think the experience irrevocably scarred me.

I can. not. believe you've already got your tree up. Yikes! I'm feeling the pressure.

I confess, I don't know who this band is. My girlfriend and I were into the Bay City Rollers. *snort* Same hair, different wardrobe.

My first thought when I saw your photos was (and don't think this is creepy) "nice butt". I really have to get mine moving. I've put on a good - make that bad - 10 or 15 pounds in the last year. Eeek! My waistline is all but gone. You're providing excellent inspiration.

i know Stanley is liking the new and comfortable Catherine, with your great appearance and personality I am sure you could get in a few more dates throughout the week!

I personally have never heard of Honeymoon Suites, but yet I am so much older than you LOL!

great post, loved it!

You gotta love that big hair. I have such straight hair it was a lot of work to get my hair big. But I did it. So glad that big hair is out.

You look fabulous my friend. High five to you on sticking with the workout programs. That not so easy..

Hugs~

Wow! That is a blast from the past. I don't miss the 80's at all. I mean, could my bangs have gotten any higher? I don't recall that band -- but I never was good with knowing the names of bands or their songs, I just liked certain kinds of music. Mostly 70's classic rock. :)

Lin said...

Dang! Girl, you look better now than back then!!! Seriously!! WOWEE!

I'm sure the band didn't look like they used to either, right?

Hey, how do you make your header? Do you use Photoshop? I can't make one like that for the life of me! Any hints like parameter size or how you do it???
