Forget "Corner" of Cat's Mind...

...I think it's the "Circle" of Cat's Mind

You ever feel like the
mouse on the wheel in your brain
is getting tired?

One of the themes interwoven into the conference
I attended a couple of weeks ago was about
living your passion.

But what is my passion?

Am I living my passion?
Am I making choices based on what my passion is?

Do I have passion in everything that I do?
Do I have passion with everything that I am?

Am

living

my

passion?

Hmmmm.....

Life is not all 'fun and games'.
But there should be more of the
'good stuff' vs 'sinkhole stuff'.

I am at a crossroads.
I'm not sure which road to walk down.
Or should I be running?

I had a 25 minute 'melt down' last night.
(Run for cover boys...she's have a mood swing!!!)

After listening to my new
'makes me feel good' song
17 times in a row
(no really ~ 17 times)
I was in a much better 'happy place'
as I drifted off to sleep last night.

"Every brand new day is a chance to chase your dreams,
to do what's right and to make a difference." ~ Massari

And it is a beautiful day my friends.

Let's go live it.

no way you could NOT be happy after listening to this song 17 times. i put a song on this week on this post
http://snapperone.blogspot.com/2012/10/macro-monday-preserve.html
and i do the same thing with it. i have played it several times each morning and i dance to it, it makes me happy and gives me exercise. as for the melt down, that is a woman thing and we all do it then we feel better.

I agree, I try to remember every day to look for somethings that bring me joy, otherwise I can sink into a sink of drudgery and THAT is a spirit killer for me! My photography blog is a day brightener, yours must be too... 17 times, well I do that too, perhaps 20...

Ahhhhh...that search! I guess the struggle makes the reward even sweeter, Glad you are striving! Growing here as well. Not always pretty but making me stronger!

I don't think anyone is going to pay me to flit about fields and look at "Bambi" and "Thumper" and ooh and ahh over the flowers.

So, given that, I have to balance realistic life needs (paying a mortgage and bills, supporting myself and the boys), with what tugs at my heart. I try to incorporate little things that bring me Joy every day, just small things.

Because other than horses, I've never had a "passion" for anything. Except for living in a Disney animated movie, that is. LOL.

You are living your dream, even though there are stress points...life happens!

Dearest Chaterine,

Thought provoking and indeed, not all 24 hours one can follow a passion. But that's all what we got and every day we make the very best of it!
Hugs to you,
Mariette

I am sure that hockey players and Hollywood stars can make a living, "living their passion", but I am not so sure that the average person can make a living doing that! I make a few bucks, living my passion, but I would be starving and homeless if I were to solely rely on that. So go 'Live your Passion" on the weekend, and time off, but the reality is most people cannot do it full time. Bummer!

I ask myself the same questions everyday my friend...
Have a very beautiful day too. :)

After learning that we are supposed to "have it all", be all, and do all, now we have to make sure that we do it all with passion...

Let's just ourselves a bit of a break, and just be....

Those dreams are still there, we will make a difference, and we will live our lives with passion, and determination. Just let me listen to that song, one more time...lol.

Aaaah, Cat! You and I on a parallel path...but we suspected that, anyway?! ;) =D I love reading the comments to this post and really would just ditto "Bossy Betty"! yup!=]

Love to you! =]

btw, I have never ever seen a black squirrel - I didn't know that there even was such a thing. I love your photos - so cute! =] I photographed the snake in the garden wall, today! =O =/

btw, have ever read "The Gift from the Sea" by Anne Morrow Lindbergh? Fascinating - this incredible woman walking this very same path - only in a parallel time. Soul food and so enlightening! =]

If I don't know what my passion is, searching for it may be fun :-)
Listening a good song is a great way to uplift our mind!! Enjoy your beautiful day!

Even though my primary passion is napping, I've tried to broaden my horizons by sprinting and running up trees very fast.

The mouse on my wheel is on it's last leg I'm afraid. Living my passion? I'm like you I have no idea what that is, but I do know one thing, I'm not living it. Maybe you and Tex and me can get together and have a meltdown together. Just to much going on in this world, in our country, in people's lives. Eeekkkk!

I wonder that every day and know that I'm not but not sure how to get there. If you find the secret, let us know! Hope you are still in a 'happy place' today!

Hi Catherine~My list of passions is quite similar to yours. I am thankful to have passions to follow. I do think having meltdowns from time to time can be good for the soul. Better than keeping it all in. xo

It's good to be passionate about lots of things...

I wished we were just travelling the world, without any cares, but there's always money to be made & bills to pay... One day, we will do it!

I hope all is calm & happy with you.

First time here. You have great passion. Love your song. I, too had a meltdown two days ago. It shows we are human.

GreatGranny said...

At least you're living your dreams. That's what keeps us going. Meltdowns are good as they relieve us of stress.

Ann said...

the little mouse in my brain is exhausted right now :) I can't pinpoint my passion because like you, I have too many things that I love to do. Maybe it's that we just have a passion for living life to the fullest.
Either way, things like work and bills gets in the way of my chasing the dream far too much

Excellent sentiment! I've struggled with purpose and passion for ... well, most of my conscious life. Somehow, things just starting falling into place. I'm still not sure that I'm following my purpose, but I started to feel less anxious about everything when I started to lean into God and trust more. Much easier said than done. Oddly enough, I think my job in commission sales taught me much about the concept of trust.

You know I think our life does go in cycles and we change our goals every once in awhile. I like your song.

Catherine, it has been so long since I stopped by your blog, and I've no idea why...I have missed you!!

But I have had those kind of times like you are talking about. I'll hope you find what you're looking for--When you do, your heart will tell you--But don't give up!!

SweetMarie said...

You and I have similar passions. When I'm having a meltdown I tell my boys to run for cover! LOL Sometimes I feel I have it all together and other times I'm lost! There are times that one or two of my passions drive me crazy! LOL
I can tell you that hubby and I started a grateful journal and it's helping us in so many ways. We got the idea from Sandie at Chatty Crone. :)

Laurie said...

It's strange how what can be our passion one day, can completely change the next. It seems I've been on that road so many times. Right now I'm not sure what it is either Catherine! Great song!!!

Linens and Royals said...

To fund our passions takes money and work. The trick is to keep your passions small and indulge them everyday. A regular meltdown is a must and a sanity saver. Playing the same song over and over to suit your mood is good. Whatever it takes... XO

Right away I noticed the song has Arabic roots so I had to look up Massari and it turns out he is Canadian/Lebanese. I just read of another blog-friend who quit her job because it was making her sick and stressed after 6-1/2 years. I think the older we get, the more we choose to live our values and approach each day with passion and gratitude rather than doing what others expect or want. Living simply with focus is a very good place to be. Best wishes, Tammy
