Goodbye October

Goodbye October!
You were:
  • Burnaby British Columbia for the first 5 days
  • Snow too early
  • Visiting squirrel friend
  • Chia Like It A Latte's
  • Finding my passion
  • Bed hogging cat
  • Devastating storms out East
  • Gone too fast

Sending good thoughts and best wishes to
all the people effected by Hurricane Sandy
in Canada and the U.S.
May you be safe.

Sad Heart, Small Bed

A part of my heart is missing...

Stanley's on a business trip to
Springfield Missouri.

He left yesterday and
will be gone for six nights.

It's going to be a long week.  :(

Though for some reason,
even with Stanley away
I still seem to only have

Miss you Stanley...

Wanna do tradesies?

It's been snowing on and off for 4 days now.
Quite frankly, I'm tired of it already.

I wonder if anyone in Palm Springs, California
is looking to trade for a house of equal value
in Swift Current, Saskatchewan...

Anyone out there want to do tradesies?

Chia Like It A Latte

not the snow that is dumping on us this morning.
That's not what 'chia like a latte'.

Our Thanksgiving is over the first weekend of October,
we usually have snow by the end of October,
and you people wonder why I start
thinking about Christmas decorations so early....

It's my homemade Chia Latte that
Chia like a Latte!

(sorry...just couldn't resist...)

Strong chia tea
1/4 cup unsweetend soy milk (or skim milk)
2 tbsp of reduced sugar French Vanilla creamer
whip that up with a milk whipper
(I bought a milk whipper for $6.99 this weekend!)
top it off with a little extra cinnamon
and you have yourself
a hot 'feel good' beverage for these
snowy mornings.

Only 2 Weight Watcher's points!  :)

if only I didn't have to go out into that snow
to go to work this morning...

It's beginning to look a lot like...

Stanley and I went to Regina yesterday.
October 20 and the temperature was 20c (68F).
Many stores had their Christmas decorations out
and were playing Christmas music.

I love it!
(please don't hate me...but I do...I really really do)

You may say:
"Christmas decorations shouldn't be out until after Halloween!"

I say:
"Skip stupid, pointless Halloween
(my opinion only...don't send me 'hate' comments)
and make room on the shelves for more Christmas decorations!"

For me, it's not the presents.
I actually wish someone would do away with that custom.
(So why don't I??...hmmm....)
It's all about the excitement of decorations,
and the 'good will', 'giving' and overall 'niceness'
that people adopt for the season.

it would be a wonderful thing if we
adopted that for the whole year.
But let's take what we can get shall we?

And for those that are wondering,
Yes ~ I did buy a few things!
Not anything from the above photo.
While cute, they are a little too
'cartoony' for my Christmas decorating theme.

  • And you?  Too early yet?
  • When's 'prime' Christmas start time for you?
  • Perhaps you don't celebrate Christmas.  What's your favorite holiday of the year?

Finding My Passion

a little 'pick-me-up'
fresh flowers
always a spirit lifter

then you must remember
to stop and enjoy them

 Friday night
cuddle on the couch
with your sweetie
watching an 'oldie but a goodie'

waiting patiently
for your supper
to be delivered
from your favorite restaurant

now THAT's living my PASSION!

Forget "Corner" of Cat's Mind...

...I think it's the "Circle" of Cat's Mind

You ever feel like the
mouse on the wheel in your brain
is getting tired?

One of the themes interwoven into the conference
I attended a couple of weeks ago was about
living your passion.

But what is my passion?

Am I living my passion?
Am I making choices based on what my passion is?

Do I have passion in everything that I do?
Do I have passion with everything that I am?

Life is not all 'fun and games'.
But there should be more of the
'good stuff' vs 'sinkhole stuff'.

I am at a crossroads.
I'm not sure which road to walk down.
Or should I be running?

I had a 25 minute 'melt down' last night.
(Run for cover boys...she's have a mood swing!!!)

After listening to my new
'makes me feel good' song
17 times in a row
(no really ~ 17 times)
I was in a much better 'happy place'
as I drifted off to sleep last night.

"Every brand new day is a chance to chase your dreams,
to do what's right and to make a difference." ~ Massari

And it is a beautiful day my friends.

Let's go live it.

A Little Visitor

I don't often get squirrels in my yard.
This black one kept visiting me all day yesterday.

It appears that the little Nuthatches have some
major competition for those sunflower seeds this fall.

Not to worry little bird...
you know I will keep that feeder full.

Slow Down October!

Does anyone else need a
few extra days added onto October?

It's been a horribly busy month and here it is...almost 1/2 done!
Thanksgiving is past.
The last of the turkey left-overs gone.
I am spending most of next week on the road for work.
I have a course that starts October 16.
Back to school again.
Assignments and exams.  Blah!
My house is in desperate need of a good cleaning.
Those 'dust bunnies' are multiplying at an alarming speed.
Halloween is just around the corner.

Snow & Sardines

there it is...

It won't stay though - I know it.
(Or is that I hope it.)

But onto happier things!
Banjo's treat from
Woofles & Meowz
in Vancouver.
(See photo in last post)

Dried Sardines!

Well you know I hope
those don't get barfed up onto my
living room carpet one night!

Happy To Be Home ~ Part 1

Hello my lovely friends!

I made it home safe and sound from Vancouver, BC.
And although the conference was FANTASTIC
the weather PERFECT
and we saw some BEAUTIFUL places,
after six days and five nights I was more than ready to come home.

Beautiful Ocean

Pretty Beaches

Fun Street Names

Fantastic Views

Amazing Colors

Lush Forests
(Stanley Park)

Unexpected Sightings
(that's for Wayne who likes to watch Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet)

Relaxing Afternoon

Favorite Tea Stop

Cool Patios

Very Cool!

Enjoyable Refreshments
(Pomegranate Martini and Pomegranate Margarita)

My turkey is in the crockpot
I'm making an apple crisp
and after I lay in my tub for awhile
I will be dressing in something cozy
curling up on the couch with my ipad
and spending the day catching up with all of you.

The snow skipped over us here in Swift Current
(though it did hit towns near us)
but it has been very cold out.

Wishing all my Canadian friends a
Very Happy Thanksgiving!
