Too Early For Christmas Talk?

Hello my lovely friends!

Here I am...
back in blogland...
4 days and 2000 kilometers later.
(1240 miles for my U.S. friends)

A BIG tip of the hat to those of you from Billings Montana
where everywhere we went: shopping, restaurants, hotel
we could not have asked for better, more friendly, more professional service
(OK...except for Mr. Frowny Pants Waiter at the Olive Garden...
would it have killed you to smile just once???)

I would suggest that many of the service people
from my city of Swift Current Saskatchewan
could take some lessons from you all!

Your gas is less expensive
Your restaurant food is less expensive
Your service is better

Your hotel prices were the same
Your clothes prices were the same
But you have no taxes!!
(What's up with that you lucky people!!!)

But...
we have Tim Horton's and you do not...
man I missed my steeped tea
(Starbucks...ummm...yea...no thanks...)
and we have mandatory motorcycle helmet laws
distracted driving laws,
and free clinic and hospital care.

Then we made a jaunt over to Great Falls Montana
where there was many fun things to do and see.
What a beautiful city!

So let's talk about Christmas Decorations at Hobby Lobby...
Ok boys... just drop me off and come back for me in a few hours...
LOVE THAT STORE!!!!

(9 1/2 weeks until I put up my Christmas tree...)

Now...
off I go to catch up with all of you lovely people...

Still 10 more days of holidays left!!!  :)

P.S. A big Thank You to my friend Corinne
for looking after Banjo while we were gone...
and for cleaning up the cat puke on the carpet...
I owe you!!  :[

Yes, it is too early for Christmas!!

Hobby Lobby is okay, but their stuff all starts to look the same after awhile. And their employees are not allowed to help customers in the store--which I don't like.

What is with you and all that holiday time??? Lucky you!

Nope -- not too early for Christmas talk.
Although I decorated my front porch this afternoon with its autumn splendour and was sweating with the effort (30C about 86F degrees).
Somehow it just didn't feel right :-)

Dearest Catherine,
Sounds like you had a super time. Of course you didn't go to paradise but close to. Poor, poor Banjo... how he missed you and became sick! You do have a sweet friend looking after him. That gives peace of mind for traveling; we know about that one.
Hugs to you,
Mariette

Glad you had great time! Well a few things like no Tim Horton's but still, sounds like it was a great trip :-) I'd love to visit there some day.
We may think it's too early for Christmas talk, but time passes so fast! I don't think it's too soon!

My sister is already planning for her family Eve before Christmas Eve gathering. I try to put my blinders on when walking through Hobby Lobby, trying to concentrate on Fall and Thanksgiving is getting harder every year!
Glad you had such a wonderful time in Montana, hope one day to get to the North West Catherine, but really would love to live in Saskatchewan after reading your posts and watching Corner Gas!

Welcome home!

It's never really too early for thinking about Christmas...decorating yet, thinking about it no! I've got a couple of gifts already tucked away in the closet.

I've been to Why-not Minot but never to Montana. I may have to consider a trip there ...sounds like the shopping was good!

Yes it's way too early for Christmas! Glad you had a good time on your trip! I haven't been in a Hobby Lobby since we moved from Colorado since there isn't one here. :( We don't have sales tax in Oregon either so maybe it could be on your next itinerary!

Sounds like you had fun! Its always a good time to take a trip down to the USA...there is always something different to experience there!!

oh no, Banjo, you did not! we have taxes here in Florida, 7 percent of everything you buy. but we don't have state taxes. in Montana the poor people who live there pay those taxes, 2 to 7 percent on every dollar they make. here in FL we tax on what is bought, and that way visitors help pay for the roads they drive on. we love our sales tax system because we don't have to pay tax on income. except of course to big brother federal guy

Funny, just yesterday I was thinking, I can hardly wait to decorate for Christmas, that happens when the socks and winter quilts come out. Montana is a beautiful state, but I agree with you on the prices, lately I just want to spend my shekels in my own country, can't find those deals anymore.

Glad you are having such a good time. I haven't been to Montana.

I can't believe you are thinking about Christmas...you know what comes before Christmas??? SNOW

No, it's not too early to talk about Christmas - and just six weeks ago (middle of August) I had all of these wonderful ideas of things to make for Christmas... now, what were they?=/ What inspired me was a vein of Christmas images on Pinterest! =D In the mood..... =]

Love to you and your family!
