Flowers, Technology and a Question

"Why don't they give us things we can actually use?
I don't need a thinner phone. You know what I need?
I need a tortilla chip that can support the weight of guacamole!"
~ Ellen DeGeneres on the iPhone 5

So, they made the iphone5 thinner, but it's now taller.
How is that better?

Is anyone else sick of the technology rat race?

Well, since I got a Mac and an iPad, I really need to switch from my Android phone so I can keep it all in sync. I am a total tech addict!

Oh hell yeah! So sick of it! BUT I am glad I can get to know you and other people via computer blogging! That has been awesome.

PS, I agree with Ellen!

Well, my cell phone is an old LG thing, bought at WalMart last year. I pay $100 for the year for service--and use maybe half of it at most. No iPod, iPad, no smart phone...Just my laptop and a basic DVD player. Heck, I only got my first LCD TV in December, and then only because my old analogue died. :-)

Your question made me smile ... I have a cell phone and a computer, no laptop, iPad, and so on :-)

The kids and I were just talking about this in the car today. The news iPhone is now similar to the Samsung Galaxy which my oldest son has. My youngest son was saying that they've made the new iPhone so that you can't use any of your old adaptors and such which means you have to buy all the accessories new to go with it which means more money spent and more tech stuff to be added to the ever growing pile of useless stuff in this world. It's really out of hand. I still have my old Nokia mobile -- I've had it for 8-10 years. I use it to call and take calls and to send sms' to friends. I think the world has gone crazy. It really is so pathetic to see a whole room of people with their heads down staring at their iPhones and Blackberries. I've never been one to jump on the bandwagon and definitely will not be getting on this one. Our school, without a plan, is doing an iPad rollout tomorrow. They want to charge 150 KD per child annually for the use of a school issued iPad and kids are not allowed to use their own personal iPads. I refuse to do it! They think that peer pressure will make everyone cave -- but I'm stubborn and won't be pushed into anything I don't agree with. It's all about money and I am so sick of the greed in this world.

I better stop now or I might get on a soapbox. :) Hope your day is a good one. Tammy

We just got cell phones, we have Androids, so the question of upgrading isn't on our minds...I am kind of loving them, but I am glad I waited so long.

I've also heard it won't fit in your pocket.

I like the simplicity of your flowers. I rarely use a cell phone and have few other "gadgets".

I love my super cool Nikon/lenses, my laptop, my iPad, but I hate cell phones.
I'm not available for anyone 24x7, and obviously I don't intend to pay for that!
Are these lovely flowers from your garden? :)

I think we need to be less technology and more face to face communication. Outside Blogging that is!

I am barely hanging on by my fingertips trying to keep up with thechnology. Now I know why I had children, so I can keep a foot in the door of technology with the help of grandchildren. Maybe they'll help me give up cliches' too. XX

I only use use email and internet to check my blog and shop on my phone. All the other hundreds of apps are useless so I don't know why all this updated technology is needed but maybe it's for the youngins.

It makes me crazy how something can be state of the art today and outdated in a week. I don't even know how to use half the stuff on the phone I have

For goodness sakes its hard to keep up. I used to always tell my hubby I didn't need one of those smart phones. But I must admit now that I have one I love it. But I still not to big into the texting thing. I guess I'm just old school. I want to talk to the person.

Hugs~

I'm always behind in technology...use an old Samsung phone and when they wanted me to upgrade this year, I said no. I had to because I haven't figured this phone out yet...don't need to try to figure out another one, lol!

The flower shot is lovely!

I don't even need an I-phone. I am sooo not into technology! I have a nice phone that I love and I really don't care about what new phone is coming out next. They just do it to get more money out of us all. At some point, you gotta just quit updating for the sake of updating.

Hot Rocks said...

As soon as you buy something techy, t's outdated immediately....it is getting a bit annoying!

Becca said...

Yea, it's hard for me to keep up too, but I'm still an "Apple Junkie" and like my toys. No plans for the iPhone 5 for a while...still in our contract. We're not ones to run out and buy right away...like to let them work out the bugs first. :-)

Our mum is just hoping they return to making phones with buttons big enough for her fat thumbs! The number of times she has to re-do text messages...
