Can it be true?

The last week of September
quickly slips away.

All my garden trinkets
have been put away in the shed
for another year
to sleep away the winter.

The Farmers Almanac predicts the first snow for the
Canadian Prairies by the end of the 1st week of October...
ummm....THAT's NEXT WEEK PEOPLE!

Who are these 'farmers' and
what are they smoking while writing up these predictions?

I am crossing my fingers that they are wrong!

the writers are the same as what I call THEY say. as in weather news, all kinds of things that are put out there for us to hear and read and see. or so THEY say

I don't know who they are but they built a sauna in one of the sheds (they're Scandinavian, I think). Can't you just picture it? The dead of winter.... a handful of Norwegian dairy farmers (big guys, no doubt) - roasting and sweating in a steamy, filthy barn....we'll just stop there! =O It's the one spot of our property that occasionally makes me stop and feel wicked BLURGH!!!!!! =P

hmm....

What do they say for Eastern Ontario? I keep hearing we're going to have a snowy winter too. Ugh, ugh, ugh.

Hope you don't get snow just yet. Have a great week and hugs to Banjo. :)

I am probably in the minority here, but as a teacher, I was disappointed by our lack of snow last year! We didn't have a single snow day! I love waking up to the announcement that there is no school!

Oh burr humbug on that snow stuff!

NOOOOOO! That would not be a very friendly welcome. Hey - Carolynn here, just popping in before my connection is severed to say Hi! and thanks for the lovely note you left on my doorstep. I've only just seen your header at this point and I'm already impressed! So very nice to meet you - my first friend in Saskatchewan! Yay. I'm looking forward to meeting you in person!

Blessings,

I was just thinking of taking that patio umbrella down. Sigh. Do I have to?

Snow already? You didn't even have a very long summer so I hope 'they' are wrong!

It's hard to believe we are heading in to October already. I sure hope they are wrong about that snow. I've been hearing that we are supposed to have a really bad winter. They better be wrong about that too

already snowed in the US. On the last day of summer actually.

I've yet to put away and clean up in the gardens. I suppose I should, I just hate to see winter so close already. Hopefully, the "farmers" are wrong!

NOOOO! NOT snow!

It's been frosty here lately--I've had to cover the pond plants at night. I don't think we are anywhere near snow though.

According to the weather guy, Phillips we're still supposed to have above normal temps until November. Hopefully he's right and the almanac is wrong. My brother who watches this sort of thing told me the almanac was totally wrong last year....hope that trend continues.

S__W is a four letter word around here, lol!

Dearest Catherine,

Hope that they are dead wrong about that first snow for your region!
For you the spring starts rather late and summer kind of abruptly ends into a mild-winter... Not ready for that yet. I'm still enjoying my shorts here.
Hugs to you,
Mariette

Gosh, I hope they are wrong! I was just thinking that I should stop watering my bushes and start trimming them for the winter. But I'm hoping winter doesn't come for at least another month...

Hope they are wrong! It's too early to get snow...

GreatGranny said...

Well now that is way to early for snow. You haven't had Fall yet. I hope we get snow this year.

I can't believe it is about to be October. I really can't believe they're predicting snow for you!!! I want some! We want four seasons! We're tired of only 1.5 seasons! LOL

Autumn is just around the corner, but the leaves here are changing their colours very slowly - yes, maybe because we´ve had a lot of rain this summer...and still have! Right now here in Germany it's all gray and rainy all the time:(

Happy September...
