That's The 'Wow' Factor

Do you watch Storage Wars?
Do you know what the "Wow" factor is?
That's when you buy something for cheap
and it turns out to be worth something.

Oh the joy of finding a good deal at the thrift store.

A teeny tiny tea cup
that I will put amongst my garden trinkets
50 cents.

A pretty crystal jar
same pattern, different shape from another one I have
75 cents

A colorful kitty and fish serving bowl
not a chip nor mark on it
$2

Stamped from Nova Scotia
and signed Catfish Moon
hmmm... that must mean something

Got my treasures home
googled the name
and sure enough
it's a studio in Nova Scotia

my dish cost $65!

Now that was a good find!

Happy Sunday!

There's an antique store about half a block away that always had nice little things like that. It'll be interesting to see if I pick up something nice like that.

Good finds, Catherine!

now you can sell the dish on Ebay and use the 65 to buy more stuff... we like to watch American Pickers on History channel, they drive all over the US finding deals just like your dish. thrift store shopping is wonderful

How sweet it is to make such a find! That little tea cup looks as though it may have belonged to a little girl having a tea party with the fairies in an enchanted garden. Not that I believe in fairies of course.

That is a very cute dish! Love the little teacup too. My boss is from Nova Scotia. He gave me some cards with drawings of birds that are made by an artist there. Very pretty! He gave me earrings once, too, made by a jewelry maker in Nova Scotia. Sounds like they've got some pretty crafty folks. :) Hope your day is great. Tammy

I'm not a good one for shopping antique or thrift stores. I think it's the thrill of the hunt and I don't have it. I have no patience for the searching, so I'm bad at it. You certainly found some great things!
