Snow and Other Such Nonsense

Yes
you read that correctly
SNOW

it snowed almost all day Sunday

which left me lots of time for thinking

thinking about those people that have DVR/PVRs...

how do those people know what to buy
if they always skip the commercials?

how do they know if they need the
big schticky or the little schticky?

how do they know what kind of cat food
their cat is going to love?

how do they know what new products
are going to help them look simply ageless?

how do they know that they need a
snuggie to keep them warm?

just another example of how
technology is ruining the world...

Photo Credits: The four product images were all found using Google Images with the word "commercial products" and I'm too lazy to list the links of the actual sites I found them on.  Sorry.  :(

Sorry to hear about your snow Catherine.
Today in Ottawa it was 39 with the humidex (pass the margaritas). We've had a little T storm and it is cooling down a bit now -- it's 31!
I will try and send some your way.

Phew...that snow missed us entirely. We just had rain, lots and lots of rain!

Hopefully it's gone by now....and hopefully those silly products disappear soon as well.

Have a great day!

You did NOT have snow, did you???! Really???! Aw, gees, that is horrible. I hope all of your flowers make it!

Snow????? Holy Cow ---as much as I love snow, I don't think I'd enjoy it the end of May... Yipes!!!!! Is that typical for your area?

Oh those dreaded commercials. I NEVER watch them if I can help it. We do have a DVR... It's wonderful.
Hugs,
Betsy

Do you mean there is technology in the world that removes TV ads!! Never heard of it here.
I bought a Schsicky (different name here) after seeing a demo. in the supermarket. I had fun for a day then the sticky wore off. It does NOT work, and I don't like those snuggies. I got one as a gift and made it into cat blankets. Who needs ads??

Snow? I'm not all that surprised. We have had cooler temps and last week there was new snow on our little mountains. Maybe you will get a little peek at summer eventually.

A belated Happy Birthday to Banjo!

We are sweating down here in the high 90's - I can't believe you got snow! I do wish there was a way to trade! lol Cute post, though!

Snow? It's almost June! Looks like your summer is going to be short again this year but hopefully it comes soon! Good question on how people find out about products when we see less commercials these days. Hmmm.

SweetMarie said...

Can't believe you got more snow! At least you spent your time wisely. LOL I can't stand commercials and I don't watch much t.v.. :)

So true! And think of all of the blog posts that wouldn't have been written about useless products.

I'd say the only good thing about your s-n-o-w was your lovely photographs!

Becca said...

Oo sorry, I know how much you don't want that right now. Too bad the weather doesn't have a DVR, you could just fast forward through the stuff you don't like!

Sandra said...

we DVR everything but the news, so all of these are familiar because of seeing them while hubby watches the news, which i really don't like
sorry about the snow, but you would not have gotten that stunning first photo. absolutely gorgeous photo.

Brian said...

Oh no snow, it is time for it to go! Hey, I really like the cat food commercials!!!

Snow??? Ugh! We were sweltering down here.
You always make me laugh ... I'm with you ... too much effort to look of those links!

Are you kidding me. Is this some crazy joke mother nature is playing..
We are going to be over 100 this week. And I was thinking that was crazy..

But SNOW.. REALLY...

I have to admit. I am one of those who really do hate commercials. I would drive my hubby batty because before the DVR I would change channels just to avoid the commercials..

Hope your snow is all gone by now!

Hugs~

S N O W!? Is it uncommon for it to snow there at the very end of May? I checked several webcams in Montana Sunday & it was snowing there, too.
It was almost 100 over the weekend, but it's 72 & gloriously breezy here this morning... we're fixing to get some much needed rain, everything is turning brown.

You're crackin me up w/ the ads... i can't stand em!

Hot Rocks said...

OMG!
You don't want to hear what I have to say about that bad snow!

W are safe here...been a bit rainy, but the dreaded white stuff is staying away for now.

Advertising is everywhere, not just on television so I don't think any of those companies lose sales because of DVR.

And I think that if it snowed in late May I would lose it. Seriously.

Oh, good god. Snow. Seriously! That is AWFUL! I remember a number of years ago getting snow in early May, but almost June is WAY too late.
Also, LOL at Schticky. Love that commercial. Cracks me up every time it comes on. :D

Gotta kick out of your comment the other day about mis-reading 'Kittitas' County as 'Kitties' County... you made me chuckle, I'd move there with you! Snow, wow it's late for snow, isn't it?

Dearest Catherine,

Sorry for your late snow ordeal!
But as far as commercials, for sure we don't miss anything. Pieter and I asked each other one day:'What do we owe in our home, lives, due to a TV commercial?'
The answer was: 'NOTHING'...
Love to you,
Mariette
