Dear Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature,

First off, please know how grateful I am that you did not bring me the normal harsh Saskatchewan winter this year.  I truly do appreciate it.  As does anyone else that didn't experience the take-your-breath-away low temperatures and snow as high as your waist.

I was wondering though, is it too much to ask for you to hurry Spring along?  Yes, she has popped in to us once or twice over the last few weeks, but it seems that something is holding her back in staying.  Is it my lack of fall garden clean up that she does not find appealing enough to stay?  Is it the fact that I have yet to empty out my flower pots from last year?  What?  Just let me know and I shall change anything she needs to entice her to stay.

Stanley is anxiously awaiting his first round of golf, and I am of little patience left to find something other than brown to photograph.

Please hurry Mother Nature, I'm fading fast.
xo Catherine

P.S. Anyone else enjoying PicMonkey photo editing program?  I can't remember whose blog I first saw it on but it's fun and it's free!

Hold on Catherine! It's coming!! It just got too warm too fast and now we are all suffering. It's winter-cold here today--after the warmest March in the record books. :(

Love that image and the quotes. Spring feels as though it's arrived here in Virginia. Hopefully it will make it's way to you soon too.

I've been looking for an on-line photo editing program to replace Picnik, so thanks. I see it won't be free for long, but if it's a reasonable charge to use their extra features, I'll pay. I do have PhotoShop Elements, but want something easier for the simple-minded and creatively-challenged (i.e. me). LOL.

As for spring....I'm wondering where she went too, though we do have tulips and daffodils in bloom now and the lilacs are budding, will bloom soon enough. But it's not like Toronto--they're fruit trees are in bloom, for heaven's sake. And it's still very chilly here. I want at least 15C, better would be 20+C. :-)

Claudia at Mockingbird Hill Cottage posted about PicMonkey and I mentioned it on my blog one time. I've gone there a time or two but then learned about Photoscape which downloads to your computer free so I have been using that. I'm not really much into digital imaging, but it is nice sometimes just to quickly collage images rather than adding photos one by one to a post. Our dust is back so it is very dreary here today and most everything is always dull and brown. Have a great week. Tammy

I've been using PicMonkey, and I love it!!!!! Spring is so fickle. One day it's here, and next it's not. Don't know what to tell ya. Here it will be 88 degrees today, but by the weekend, 50's and rain. Spring is confusing! BUT, April showers bring May flowers right?

Very nice, Cat, love that pop of red of the ladybug & the texture... so cool! =)

We've had temps in the high 70's up to the mid 80's for 3 weeks, but this week is Spring weather again & I sooo love Spring (minus the tornadoes & flooding, of course) hehehe

Here's to Spring making a looong overdue stop in your neck of the woods! =)

Dearest Catherine,

Hopefully this letter from you reaches some 'EARS'...
We have had some cooler nights at 5°C and tomorrow it wil be 2°C but our days are sunny and 20+°C. Wish I could push that off to you, to the north west...
Stay cozy and enjoy what you are doing!

Love,

Mariette

Hi Catherine, I too could write Mother Nature a letter today.. We are expecting freezing conditions tonight and tomorrow night... I hope and pray that we don't lose our flowers/roses, etc... Scary --but just a part of life....

We have been lucky with a very mild winter and early spring here. BUT--we knew that winter would show its head at least once more... Grrrrrrr....

Hope your spring weather gets there soon.
Hugs,
Betsy

It really seems your lovely ladybird is praying!
I know how you feel, especially because autumn is coming soon...
But to tell you the truth, I woulndn't mind if I had 365 spring days during the year. ;-)

Brian is right, I think our spring is running away too quickly. We almost seem to be skipping spring and going straight to summer, I am not ready for that.
Mother nature probably just needed a little reminder.

The Ladybug is so cute...before long it will be hot and we'll be wanting winter to come...or maybe not....

I hope you have a wonderful weekend...

Hi Cat!
wishing Spring along for you! Perhaps by now you do have it, because it wandered away from here. Actually we were having ridiculously high temps for so-called Spring--70s and even low 80s. Today and yesterday it was in the 50s. The cold (overnight freezing temps) has burnt my hydrangeas.

Hello from me...Suzy....your new follower! Love your blog.
I discovered PicMonkey a long time ago but could never get to it to save my photos and with the on-coming closure of picnik I decided to email them and ask why I couldn't do it. It's an internet explorer prob with me and was advised to use it with another browser which I did and hey presto it works fine and I Love it! Suzy x

We are sooooooo, SOOooooooo, SOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo very fortunate that we got some serious spring and things started to green up before the stall came. Yup! Absolutely stalled! But, it's happy, anyway, because it sure beats winter!

But, Cat.....wait till you read the post that's coming today or tomorrow in the sunny spot..... Ooooohhhh.....=/
