3 Cats Away ~ Part II

In fear that I was only '3 cats away' from being a hoarder,
I decided to get rid of some of my stuff.

The first things I got rid of were 217 assorted magazines
to friends/co-workers which cleared up 3 book shelves.
That leaves me a paltry 57 of my favorite assorted
craft, photography and gardening magazines
which fit onto one shelf.

While I could not part with any of my cat mugs,
I did get rid of a bunch of others
including my small collection of
Norman Rockwell mugs.
This cleared up almost a
full shelf in my kitchen cupboards.

I got rid of some clothes out of my 2 closets
which freed up some space.
After all, how many cream/beige sweaters
does a girl need?? So off to
Community Living my lovely clothes go.
I tried to go with if I hadn't worn it for
the 2nd winter in a row, it had to leave my closet.

I was doing pretty good until I went to Regina on Friday.
That's when my good intentions of de-cluttering went awry.

For even though I have many
cute little clips already...
cute green and white stripy clips on a craft shelf

many cute little word clips
stored in a jar in my computer room...

when I saw these adorable clothes pin magnetic clips
for only a $1.50 for a package of 4 at Michael's...
well... I had to have them!
Actually, I had to have 3 boxes of them!!
(I'm giving some to the girls at work ~ really I will!)

And as good I as I did getting rid of all those magazines,
I bought a few new ones.

And my greatest weakness ~ new journals!
Even though, as I reported to you in Part I of this post
that I had 20 new journals sitting on a shelf in my computer room
(with 7 journals being used scattered around home and office)
I could not resist buying a few more.
Well... 6 more to be exact.
But the 3 little ones were in a package together
so really that should only count as 1.
Right???

Two steps forward, one step back.
That's how it goes sometimes doesn't it?

sigh... does anyone know of any

We're Back!

So in the hopes of forgetting about this
ridiculously cold weather and snow for awhile...

Yesterday
(re: "No Work Today" Friday's post)
Stanley and I
(our photo)
got up early
(me 4 am, Wayne 8:00 am)
hopped into the car
(photo of car keys)
got ourselves a Timmy's
(me Steeped Tea, Wayne coffee)
and drove to Regina to spend the day shopping
(my purse)
and out for a nice supper.
(or at least better than our often cereal for supper)

We then drove back to Moose Jaw
(which is between Swift Current and Regina)
and stayed over night at the
it's only an hour and a half away from us
but we have never stayed there before.

NOTE: the following photos are from their website

This was our room
the jacuzzi was piped into the mineral water.

This was the spa pool.
(for clarification ~ this is NOT me in the pool...haha!)
You could be inside
our you could swim under the bridge...

and be outside.
Friday night there was a -43 windchill
and we did go outside ~ twice
frozen hair and all!

We got home this afternoon
just before the snow hit...again...

It was wonderful to escape from
this crazy weather for 24 hours... :)

No Work Today

Any guesses as to
how we are going to spend our day off?

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming...

you know I try to stay all
positive and happy on my blog
goodness and light
look at the bright side
life could be worse
blahblahblahblahblahblahblah....
you know I do...

well sometimes I feel the need to vent
to allow myself a little 'pity party'
to do a bit of crying and complaining
to call 'a spade a spade'

*~*~*~*~*

after all,

I can buy myself flowers
to simulate 'spring like' beauty
and post about how grand life is...

I can post spring buds from my photo archives
to remind myself that spring will eventually get here
giving myself encouragement to have patience...

I can post photos of Banjo
looking so cute
to make me happy...

I can post photos of some of my garden trinkets
tucked away in the shed awaiting spring
like the starting of my owl collection that I enjoy...

but the fact is
it's still winter...

it's nearly the end of February
and the snow is still up to
Puss n' Boots' neck in the garden...

sigh...

I know I know...

suck it up...

move on...

I will return you to your regularly scheduled programming tomorrow...

Helping Hand

I think everyone needs
a 'helping hand' sometimes
and it often comes from
the most unexpected places
and in the simplest forms...

a bit of encouragement
a kind word
a little hug
a warm smile

I will try to do my share today...

will you?

What else is there to do...

...but bake cookies?

"Think what a better world it would be if we all,
the whole world, had cookies and milk
about three o'clock every afternoon
and then lay down on our blankets for a nap."

Here At Last!

That stretch between long-weekends
is sometimes unbearable.
Especially after the Christmas holidays.
In 2007 Saskatchewan declared
Family Day in February
thus creating a long-weekend
between New Years and Easter.
This holiday had been in a
couple of other provinces before us.
I don't know who finally decided to
'jump on the band wagon' and follow suit
but to whoever it was.....

Thank You
Thank You
Thank You!!!

Anyone else looking forward to the weekend?

Side Note: I made my own filter in the photo above ~ fun huh?

CATuesday

Tuesdays...
a good day for cats to teach us something I think.

Are you taking time to
stop and enjoy life?

Have you been living an authentic life
in following your beliefs and values?

Are you living an engaged life by
being aware of the things going on around you?

Have you been selective in the things you choose to do
and not just doing things to please others?

Have you been getting enough rest?

Cats...
they really do seem to know how to make the best
of every day don't they?
