Thanking My Lucky Stars

The washing machine is dead
I lost 900 stars and 3 purchased songs
{BOOOO! to wii Nintendo for not letting you transfer purchased items to a new system!}
I'm fighting with losing those last 5 lbs

Sometimes when you are being "Ms. Pouty Pants"
you have to take a hard look at your life and say
"Is this all I have to worry about today?"

I have a warm roof over my head
people and a furry friend who love me
I am healthy
I am alive

Yup...
life is pretty good!

Sometimes you just need to
give yourself a little 'pep' talk now and then.

Have a Happy Day!

Always good to keep the perspective ;o) My tree is coming down today. Love Banjo's bed (he looks somewhere between snug and smug curled up in there *grin*).
Happy New Year girl!

It's me said...

It's so true that you have to take a step back and look at the big picture sometimes to feel ok about the icky things that happen. Even so,sorry about that!

this is so true, I use things that happen in our town in my breaking news, to slap myself upside the head when i get pouty feeling. and sometimes go through all the list of what i have to be thankful for.

I agree!!!

Dearest Catherine,

What a funny saying Miss Pouty Pants... First time I hear that! But you're right; often we have to laugh at ourselves and move on.
Life doesn't end because of some unfortunate things coming our way, it's just the way we handle them.
Happy New Year to you and lots of love,

Mariette

PS Did you see our winter blooms in today's post?

This is so true...

Things may not always go according to plan, but we do try to see something good in every day!

It puts it all into perspective when someone you know is so grateful to just survive another day...

Great Catherine! I'm still working on my first 5 lbs.! Congrats!! I have been a Ms. Pouty Pants myself, thanks for the reminder to thank God for my blessings. Have a great day!

Susan said...

Oh yes, oh yes. Funny how seeing our blessings can be so hard at times. Just giving it a concerted effort to count them strengthens us.
You are awesome Cat!

Madge @ The View From Right Here said...

I agree, Catherine... sometimes I have to give myself a swift kick in the pants!

Only 5 lbs left to lose? Oh yeah, your life is pretty darn good! I have multiples of that 5 lbs to lose!

Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the little things that go wrong but in the grand scheme of things, they really just don't matter at all. Every day is filled with blessings beyond measure. Best wishes to you and yours, Tammy

This is so true. This is the time of year that I look at the positives and the negatives in my life. It's easy to get pouty, but I don't let it last long! Thanks for the reminder!
You look great Catherine! Don't let that five pounds get to you. :)

I have a rotten cold...no sleep for 3 nights now 'cuz I can't breathe....we are using 4 toilet rolls between us each day...laying around on the couch tossing the paper onto the coffee table from there. Must remember to disinfect it when I get ambulatory.... and Mr. BV is only slightly ahead of me at trying to get rid of his. All of his week off he has been sick....today we have moved to the sore throat coughing til we gag stage.... ooooh...my pounding head.

Quit pouting and get your ass over here to make us a hot drink and some bread fingers..........please....

snozzly hugs...

Vee

Think you said it for all of us!
So cute your little Cardinal friend.
I have never seen a live one, but see them on a lot of blogs.

BTW: Your cat is BEAUTIFUL!! Those blue eyes are stunning.
(side note: my tree and stuff are all still up). Maybe I need you to come to California and help me get going?

One of the nicest things about my stay in Tennessee was to see all the cardinals. I love them. Wish they came up north. Yes, we all have to pick ourselves up sometimes!

Chatty Crone said...

EXACTLY we all have to do that - self talk! It works. Sandie

Yes, remembering that your life is good does help. But if and when there's a time you can't make yourself feel better, know that you have friends and blogging friends here to do that for you and are cheering you on!!

I bet you will lose that 5 pounds. I have to talk to myself about forgetting how blessed I am. We all have those 'pouty pants' times, guilty me.

Nancy @ A Rural Journal said...

Yep -- "this too shall pass" is something I say often. Sounds like you have your priorities right where they need to be. :)

Then, there's always that moment, somewhere after Christmas, when I'm inexplicably cranky. It didn't hit you, too, perhaps?

Hugs! =D (although, I'm sure you're way over it by now.)

and, those last five pounds! Hang in there! You can do it! Even though it seems like nothing is happening - you just need to walk this boring part of the path to get further along and where you want to be!=]

You lost 900 stars?
Was there a part of outer space real estate that you once owned?
Or am I just living under a rock? That's probably it. I still don't own a cell phone. I can't be relied on to know much about anything.
