I must be sick...

laying in bed
cold in my head
it's moving down into my chest
all I want to do is rest
I'm thankful for hot tea to drink
and thankful for Advil I think
I'm thankful for my iPad2
it allows me to connect to you
I'm also thankful for my cat
who lays beside me stretched out flat
movies, magazines, TV
all these things are dear to me
when laying in bed
with a cold in my head

hmmm....
bad poetry...
always a sign that one is sick...

I think your poem is awesome, it ryhmes, it explains your sick times, and it even has a rythym to it, if you don't mind! ha! hope you get rid of your cold and hurting head quickly, nasty winter colds and flu....those ipads (thank Steve Jobs) are so amazing! take care....

It's terrible what a simple flu can do to us...

ACK! Hot tea with lemon, and lots of naps...you stay in bed and get well soon! A rum toddy helps, too. ;-)

I´m sorry to read that you have a cold.

I always drink hot tea with ingwer, chili or pepper that works in the beginning against the old feeling.

Hope you feel better soon !!!

oups, sorry, forgot to tranlate Ingwer. I mean Ginger!

Oh dear Catherine
I wish I could pass you some of my super effective Greek "cold pills" (Comtrex Cold) - I don't know what I've done my entire life without them. They take all symptoms (seriously) and you're just left with the a slight feeling that the virus is still there, but you're just not affected. Anyhow, sounds like life in bed is not too shabby :)
AND thank you SO much for the lovely x-mas card (you made it???), love it! And I seriously had to laugh at the bookmark. I have a PILE of books on my nightstand that I want to read but I'm so tired every night (recently it's been after midnight when I've tucked the last needy cat to bed) and I always end up falling asleep with the book beside me without ever getting to read a single word!! LOL Thanks ever so much Catherine and I do hope you're better real soon.
xo and to darling Banjo too :)

Did you guys have high winds like we did? What a disaster it was round here... although.. our little cul de sac was spared and no huge trees fell on us or our neighbours...whew....

There are so many people sick right now it's hard to avoid catching it! I just got over a little bout of pneumonia myself, so please make sure to take good care of yourself, especially if you feel it moving to your chest.

*Sending chicken soup, and healing vibes* Feel better real soon! xx

Dearest Catherine,

Poor girl... did I give that to you?
Mine is not yet over and I'm so HAPPY that I did pull of the dinner for 11 on Monday evening. Feel exhausted now, as much as I love to cook but if you're not feeling 100% it is tough. Will certainly sleep in tomorrow and hope my nightly cough will leave me alone...
Love to you and stay warm!

But so true! There are some good parts to not feeling well. I was injured last year and had to ice myself. That meant I could lay on the couch and read. Oliver would come and snuggle next to me. So not all bad.

Oh Catherine, I am late reading your post, so I do hope that by the time you read my comment you are feeling much better! Sending warm sunshine your way!
