No Really...It's Doctor's Orders

Thank you my dear friends for
all your kind words and well wishes!
After consultation with my Doctor today,
it appears I have gone viral...
just like a bad Youtube video...

I am under Doctor's order for
bed rest and to drink plenty of fluids
for the next couple of days.

This means I am not allowed to:

do dishes
clean bathrooms
make dinner
do laundry
clean out the kitty litter...

No really Stanley...
it's Doctor's orders...

maybe it wasn't that kind of fluids
the Doctor was talking about...
but the rest is true...

NOTE:  For the record, those photos of Stanley and I are from 3 years ago.  I don't want anyone thinking I am sitting at home, laying on the couch drinking while I am sick!  LOL!!

I must be sick...

laying in bed
cold in my head
it's moving down into my chest
all I want to do is rest
I'm thankful for hot tea to drink
and thankful for Advil I think
I'm thankful for my iPad2
it allows me to connect to you
I'm also thankful for my cat
who lays beside me stretched out flat
movies, magazines, TV
all these things are dear to me
when laying in bed
with a cold in my head

bad poetry...
always a sign that one is sick...

What kind of nip do you grow down there in the South?

I was a winner from Kat's Corner the other day!

The package arrived on Wednesday.
I opened it up and before I could even go get my camera
Banjo was up on the kitchen table retrieving his prize!

I'm not sure what kind of nip
they grow down there in South Carolina
but it seems to be some top grade A stuff!

There was for me
some lovely cards
and some "summer" in a box!
A cute shell and bead necklace.

Thank you Kat for the wonderful gifts!

(Though Stanley wasn't very thankful
Thursday night when Banjo was running around
like a heard of wild elephants
flinging and running after his nip bag!! Ha!)

Wishing everyone a happy weekend!

Care for a hot beverage?

Quote From:  The Big Bang Theory
Leonard: What's this?
Sheldon: Tea. It's costumary to serve hot beverages when one is in emotional distress. [pats Leonard's head] There there. You want to talk about it?
Leonard: No.
Sheldon: Thank goodness. 'There there' was really all I had.

What is it about a hot beverage that soothes the soul and warms the heart?

Is there any emotion that isn't benefited by a cup of hot liquid?

I think not.

A big mug of hot chocolate while decorating your Christmas tree?

Have a Happy Tuesday!

Nice With Naughty Intentions

My Christmas tree is up!

Banjo was a very nice boy.
He got quite bored with it all actually.

A sneak peak...

There were people and furry friends
that doubted you could leave the tree alone Banjo.

Now don't get too self-righteous.
There's six weeks to go before
the tree gets taken down...

what do you think?

Will all my Christmas birds go
unharmed for the next six weeks?

Love is...

Early Friday morning,
Wayne and I headed to
his mother's house for the weekend.

It's a 6 1/2 hour drive.

First stop was a trip through Tim Horton's drive-thru of course.
With a double double and a steeped tea we headed out.

We talked.
We laughed.
We sang.

Ok, I sang,
Stanley can't carry a tune.

Sometimes we just sat quietly
and held onto hands.

On Saturday afternoon we ran into
my great aunt and great uncle in Tim Horton's.

(Oh yes...there's a Tim Horton's everywhere in this country
and us Canadians...we like us our Timmy's!)

They live in a small town not far away
from Wayne's home town.

This is my great-aunt Florence and great-uncle Isaac.
I hadn't seen them for a few years.

She's 80 years old and he's 88.
They've been married for 61 years.

On Tuesday nights while she's at Bingo
he stays home and vacuums.

On Thursday nights while she's at Bingo
he stays home and cleans the bathroom.

They like to go out for coffee together.
They finish each other's sentences.

She's been fighting cancer for many years.
He's never left her side.

They still like to hold onto each other's hand.
He says it's just to hold each other up.

I don't believe that for a second.

I know love when I see it...

Are you ready?

Are you ready for it?

It's on it's way.

Predictions of snow for tonight and tomorrow.

I'm not ready for winter.
It's too soon.

I think it will be a
stay in my pyjamas
drink lots of tea
watch some movies
work on some crafts
bake some cookies
type of weekend.

Hello November

November...you are:
  • predictions of snow this week
  • a day for remembrance
  • anticipation of decorating for Christmas
  • raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
  • bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens
oh....wait a minute...that doesn't seem right...
  • cozy warm sweaters
  • big mugs of hot chocolate
  • snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
  • silver white winters that melt into spring
hmmmm....clearly I'm getting November confused with something else...

Wishing everyone a
