Did you smile?

You know you've had enough rain
when these start popping up all over your garden!

A mushroom walks into a bar and sits down.
The bartender says "Hey... we don't serve mushrooms here!"
The mushroom says "But why not?  I'm a fungi!"

Bawhahahahaha... fun-guy... get it?

(come on... I know you are smiling...)

Happy Friday!

Yup. I get it. Especially the part about way too much rain. I'm thinking on building an ark. At least I don't live along the Missouri.

Ha! There were some honkin mushrooms popping up in my aunt's yard in Michigan last summer. One day none, and then a rain and pow, there they were. Amazing! have a fabulous Friday. Tammy

Dearest Catherine,

Indeed did you get enough rain when the underground living mycelium got activated to produce its fruitbodies! That is early as here you often see this in August or September.
Mycelium lives forever but only the optimum conditions make it produce the fruitbodies...
That was our profession but we were not funny guys with it... Dead serious! Loved your joke about the fungi!

Lots of love,

Mariette

Yes, that's a lot of rain. I hope you're not in an area that's impacted by the flooding.

Love your shots, of course--I have a "thing" for fungi!

Lovely photographs Catherine! Oh, I do fancy mushrooms...especially when I discover a faerie in residence.

Enjoy a smile-filled weekend!

Heh ; )
It keeps raining here too — usually when I go for my morning bike ride *shakes fist at weather*
So, yeah, I hope it stops raining so much. You know, a little every now and then. Everyday is maybe a little much.

Have a lovely weekend!

Sorry about all the rain, in the news I read the number 1 west was closed from flooding this week. In my part of the prov. we haven't seen rain in over a week. Now that is a lot of people praying hard. So many floods all over, and us sandwiched between two lakes are dry, for now. Love the pics, and I did smile. :)

I caught it right off...funny and gave me a much needed smile today.
I looked in my flower box this AM and 2 tiny mushrooms growing.
So, I'll snip them good, don't need mushrooms. Your photos are good as usual.

We have been having a lot of rain lately, too. I should check outside to see if there are any new things popping up :-)

Had to read this again, and take another look at the mushrooms, the first one looks like he could walk into a bar...and I smiled again.

Catherine, I BEG you send us some of that rain!! We have to water every day to keep the plants from dying - it is SO unbelievably dry here. I absolutely love the images... I'm breathing in the damp and wetness!!!
P.S. Poor fungi :-))))

Lin said...

Oh, I've finding some mushrooms here too! Lots of them! But how mine aren't as pretty as yours????

Splendid Little Stars said...

ha ha! hadn't heard that one before.
We've had about double the normal amount of rain for the year so far.
Your fungi photos are lovely.

Fungi?! Yup, I'm smiling - need more coffee for the full on laugh that my poor, tired body is trying to sputter out. I think that I needed this as part of what starts my day.=]

Cat, now, I know that I just said this on the last post but, that first photo - absolutely beautiful!
