Bags to Tags and Other Random Connections

I got this carry-all 'free' the other day.
Now when I say 'free',
I mean I spent over $100 at Clinique
the other day shopping.

Speaking of shopping...
this shopping bag was not free.
It cost me $5.00.
I kind of enjoy collecting bags.

Speaking of collecting bags...
I have oodles and oodles of gift bags.
I buy them and then can't seem to use them.
It's one of my quirks.

Speaking of quirks...
I got these pretty work gloves the other day.
I haven't used them yet as I didn't want to
get them dirty digging in the garden.

Speaking of garden...
It's so exciting having my flowers bloom.
Everything is really starting to pop
with the warmth of the sun.

Speaking of sun...
We've had two nice days in a row.
Sunshine and no wind.
It makes me very happy.

Speaking of happy...
Brian and Negerigeletschtempoit both tagged me the other day.
That makes me happy.... I think... ;)

I hope they don't mind, but I am going to combine the two of them.

So here it goes:

If you could be any historical or current character who would you be?
Mary Ellen from The Waltons.

Name an interesting fact about yourself.
When I get really tired I go cross-eyed.

If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?
I would buy stock in Clinique.

Which character traits annoy you?
There's so many... I don't want to put them in writing just in case that person reads my blog and thinks I am talking about them... which I totally would be.

Name one thing that you would change in yourself?
That I cry very easily.

What do you consider your biggest achievement?
Not eating the whole bag of milk chocolate chips that are in the freezer tonight.  I stopped at half the bag.

Do you think you’re hot?
Not at the moment.  The window is open and there is a cool breeze blowing in.

Upload a picture or wallpaper you are using at the moment.
See the photo below of the tea cup and heart toast?  Yup ~ that's it!

When was the last time you ate chicken meat?
Yesterday.  I eat chicken at least 4 times a week.  (Please... no hate mail from the vegans out there....!!)

The song(s) you’ve listened to most recently?
The CD of James Blunt "Some Kind of Trouble".  It's been playing in my car for over a month.  It drives Wayne crazy that I get hooked on a CD and play it forever.

What were you thinking when you were doing this?
That I've been working on this post for over an hour and it's now 9:20 pm and therefore it is waaaaaaayyyyy past my bedtime.

Do you have any nicknames?
You can call me 'Cat', you can call me 'Kate', you can call me 'Katie', you can call me 'sweetie', you can call me 'my dear', but don't call me 'Cathy'.  :)

Now...
just like I do with those 'chain e-mails'
that always get passed around,
I will be the one to break the chain
as I am not going to pass on these tags.

I know...
I'm a very very bad blogger.... ;)

I love Clinique, too. All of my facial stuff is from there. I wonder how long that special is on for - I could easily spend that much money to get the bag!
I also am a bag collector (that black and pink kitty one on the right there is great!). I can't seem to get rid of any of them and they just start to collect. We're thinking about moving soon, so I may have to minimize how many I have - hopefully Doug won't notice me packing them up to take with us! ;)

Enjoyed this little visit ... and I'm a Clinique lover, too!

I love that bag and those pink gloves! This was a fun post and as always it's so fun learning more about you. I cry very easily too especially if something involves animals. You reminded me that we have chocolate chips in the freezer too! :)

I made my first Clinque purchase last week and it came with a makeup bag full of freebies. So far I am loving everything and wondering why I didn't try it before!

Dear Catherine,

I really enjoyed reading your post today!! I always do every time I visit you but today I couldn´t help smiling every time I read how many things we share!! I also love collecting bags, and this should be a secret because if a shop assistant hears me and offers me to buy so many things and I get a free bag...oh I can´t say no!!!!
And then there is the cross eyed thing...I do the same when I´m tired (why does it happen??)

Hope you have a wonderful, sunny week my dear friend!!!!

So you're a bag lady Mary Ellen?
Now I'm curious why her from the Waltons?
I'd have a hard time putting those pretty gloves in dirt too... maybe you could add them to a lovely watering can and use them for display.
Have a great day!

I have an entire closet full of "free" Clinique bags.

I use the Clinique perfume Aromatics Elixir but I have never used cosmetics. I guess I've saved money over the years but I don't know where it is!!!
Definitely not a bag collector or a collector of anything else for that matter. What a dull life I lead...

Heart shaped toast?! AWESOME!

Great job in answering all those questions...and I love it when someone breaks the rules, it's usually me! Oh, and I really loves bags of any kind!!!

Kea said...

I was thinking about the heart-shaped toast too. Had no idea someone actually would go to that much trouble. LOL. Of course, I'm the person who prefers to eat a bowl of cereal for supper, rather than cook. :-P

Fun post! And I never pass on the blog awards, etc., either.

Bless you for breaking the chain. Although I appreciate awards and such, I never want to hurt anyone's feelings by not giving them one. Just me.

Awesome method you used to jump from one topic to the next. You are a genius! :) Great photos, btw.

i will start at the bottom, i never open forwards or pass on chain mail, snail or email. i like this post and very much enjoyed your hour of work. keep it up.
lots of info here. the bags are beautiful, i have only 3 Christmas bags, i keep nothing, throw things away as they come in, not a single collecting bone in my body. if there is no use for it i don't have it. the gloves made me smile, hubby insisted i buy gloves for when i use the rake/shovel/hoe because i kept getting blisters or splinters. they are on top of the fridge right by the door and i used them once and forgot they were there, now you have reminded me. mine are not pretty like yours.

I just love a rule-breaker....

Anyways this was so funny Catherine!! You are a hoot!
Oh i want to know the annoying traits!!!

Did you cut that toast yourself?

9:30 is my bedtime but now i have to work till 11pm at my new job :(

Why Mary Ellen?? She's always second fiddle to John Boy.

I think being sensitive and boo-hooing is a good trait. I'm like that too. Even though I see it as a fault sometimes, I think we have big hearts. :)

Good post today!

Clinique was in another lifetime for me (I'm somewhere between Avon and Walmart these days ;o) Love that tulip bag though - beautiful! I haven't seen the pink ribbon gardening gloves; I'll have to keep my eye out for them ('cause you just know I'm having a pair! *laugh*)

Have a happy sunny funny midweek o xx o

Cute bags, I have a fetish for gift bags. My husband keeps asking me what I am going to do with them. I recycle them, give them to others...maybe... :)
