Photos From a Weedless Garden

OK ~ when I say 'weedless'
I just mean less weeds then there were
on Sunday morning!

I pulled weeds and worked in my garden for
3 hours Sunday and 2 hours Monday.
And I have the sore back and
stiff butt cheeks and legs to prove it!

Don't zoom into this photo.
You would still see weeds a plenty.
Nor look at the fence on the right.
It needs painting.
That's Wednesday or Thursday's job.

Now I just have to wait for the rain to quit
so I can get my pots planted
and the rest of my garden trinkets brought out of the shed.

enthusiasm holding up until your back gets used to it. "

Now isn't that the truth...  ;)

Your garden is MARVELOUS, Catherine... In fact, your entire yard is just gorgeous.. We are not allowed to have fences in our community...

What is the trellis box for in the middle of your garden?

Thanks for sharing... I'm sure you are glad you did it.
Hugs,
Betsy

Such a lovely tidy garden. Love the flower photos, just great. Wish I had one of those cat birdbaths!!

Your yard is so neat and tidy! It looks terrific. Plus it's big, a good size for lots of gardening!

BTW, my usual solution to weeds in my tiny back space is to put lots of mulch down around the plants. :-)

This is like me- I have a tendency to overdo things in the garden and pay the price later. I wish my garden was as neat and tidy as yours, Catherine! I just cram it full of flowers and vegetables in the hope of smothering the weeds:)

way ahead of me.... and looks like I won't be doing anything anytime soon....my ribs are horribly painful still... I could hardly lie down last night after doing too much just moving around in the house.....@#$%^& oh, man ...this is totally frustrating!

What a beautiful garden you have! I envy all of your grass. We used to have real grass in a small area, but with our water shortage in the desert now it's green, but it's fake grass. I miss the smell of a freshly mowed lawn...call me next time your son or Stanley mows so I can come over! Enjoy your garden...such lovely photos!

I like that quote. :)

Isn't it funny how much gardening hurts now?? Do I remember feeling so stiff years ago? Nope. Now after being in the garden for one day, my foot is all swollen and my body is KILLING me! Yikes.

The yard looks GREAT! You are giving my lawn some tough competition, pally!

When I read your post title I was a little jealous and then I felt better when you said just less weeds. You may still have weeds there but your yard looks fantastic and it sure looks a heck of a lot better than mine does. I like the garden. I need to do something like that, wanna come over and do it for me? I mean seeing as how you already have the stiff back and everything? :)

Dearest Catherine,

Poor butt cheeks and so true for that quote at the end!
Are you giving that leaning-over little tree a pole to straighten it? Poor thing.
Your garden looks cute and to me it looks more than perfect. Ours doesnt'look like that but we relax more since our health issues made us take a step backwards...
Our felines are happy and we enjoy it too. Why bother to over-do things?

Lots of love and thanks for your comments!

Wow Catherine, your yard is gorgeous! It inspires me to get busy on mine, if it ever stops raining! Or better yet, how about a Michigan visit to come do mine!! ;)

Oh, that quote is so true. Your garden is beautiful. Mine is also weedless, for the moment. I know when the rain stops all the weeds will have returned.

Had a good giggle over that quote even as my spine twitched in sympathy (I think Preen has to be the best thing ever invented to prevent weeds - do you have that up your way?) I have some ready to go, I just have to clear out the weeds first (blech!)
Love all the flower photos; especially Sundays (I didn't have time to leave a comment the other day) Gorgeous garden!

Oh, you're so funny! Your lawn and garden is as immaculate as your house but you're fretting about it! It's definitely a LOL! Somehow, weeds don't bother me THAT much but they drive my husband crazy! Do you know Hercule Poirot and the series with David Suchet? Hm, maybe, I should just stop right here and blog about it.... well, anyway, suffice it to say, he weeds around the vegetables in his garden every morning with a pair of tweazers. That's my husband's idea but it's not his garden. I like to wait till the weeds are nice and big and there's something to grab hold of.=]

Happy spring!
