Here At Last!

That stretch between long-weekends
is sometimes unbearable.
Especially after the Christmas holidays.
In 2007 Saskatchewan declared
Family Day in February
thus creating a long-weekend
between New Years and Easter.
This holiday had been in a
couple of other provinces before us.
I don't know who finally decided to
'jump on the band wagon' and follow suit
but to whoever it was.....

Thank You
Thank You
Thank You!!!

Anyone else looking forward to the weekend?

Side Note: I made my own filter in the photo above ~ fun huh?

Catherine,
I am ALL for long weekends...I still declare that schools should go for four days and be off 3. I think teachers would be so much more rested with a three day weekend; wouldn't we all?
Have a great one and can't wait to hear what you have planned!

Hi Catherine, Long weekends are nice for working families... That Family Weekend is GREAT. We don't have that one here ---but we do alot of celebrating here, such as President's Day, Martin Luther King Day, etc. (which are always on Mondays--which make a long weekend)...

Hope you enjoy your LONG weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sometimes we have weekends...sometimes we don't..so we never even know when they are really.... Mr. BV often works both days ...

this weekend...he happens to have flown off to visit his parents...in lovely warm Kelowna...so...my weekend is all alone...

I will be the odd man out here.

My hubby is a (very) small business owner and the statuary holidays have almost put him out of business. Between having to pay someone for not working and all the other things he has to pay to the government for having employees, gasoline is way up and HST Ontario only I think, it's killing us and he's seriously thinking of closing up shop and going to work for someone else. Family Day was just the icing on the cake.

Long weekends? Oh that sounds so nice! After April 18th I'll have 4 day weekends every week but until then I'm lucky to get a two day weekend. Enjoy your Family Day!

No Family day here but Monday is my son's birthday. I'm doing a family thing and have made some pies for his freezer as a gift, a real test of love as I hate to cook.
Enjoy your Family day. XX

Beautiful picture! Hope you enjoy your long weekend. We have a Holiday weekend too here in the US (President's Day) where many banks etc are closed Monday. Not the case with our office - we're self employed so stay open through many of the 3 day weekend holidays unfortunately.
