Goodbye November

Goodbye November

so quickly you passed

you started us
and are leaving us
with snow

it's up past our boots

I do not thank you for that

I will have higher hopes
for your appearance
next year

Snowflakes on Monday

“Snowflakes, like people,

are all different and beautiful,

but they can be a nuisance

when they lose their identity in a mob.”

~ unknown

Clearly there needs to be some crowd control
here in Southwest Saskatchewan.

Anyone have a snow blower I can borrow?

Happy Monday!

New Food ~ New Cat

As you may remember, Banjo was diagnosed earlier this year with Megacolon. This has been a condition he has been affected by for several years, but it is a condition that is hard to diagnose and treat. He has been taking very expensive mediation for awhile (refer to the I Love My Cat Post ~ but double the one medication to $130 per month as the amount changed since I posted about it!!!). The medication and food were helping some, but not completely.

Beth, our vet, who was at a conference earlier this month, had learned about a new food that was having some very good results helping with Megacolon in cats, and thought of Banjo.

Banjo started on Gastro Intestinal Fibre Response dry cat food 18 days ago, and as of today, I am very happy to report, he has been off both of his medications and wet cat food for 12 days and has been having some very 'big' and 'regular' results with this new food. (groan... sorry... that was bad...) And, no vomiting for over 14 days either!!

She told me he was the first kitty in Swift Current to be on it. He's eating 1/2 cup a day (1/8 of a cup, 4 times a day) and seems to be much more appetite satisfied being on this food.

We are crossing our fingers and paws that we keep having good results!

Banjo and I send big hugs, kisses, and Thank You's to our vet, Beth! xxoo

Enough Already!!!

The snow is almost up to wire kitty's neck!
It's only November 25 and I am soooooo tired of the snow already.

November 25?
Only one month until Christmas??
Oh my stars.

Are you done your Christmas shopping?
I am hoping to be done this Saturday.
I must add here that I only have 3 people to buy presents for.
That's the plus side of having a very small family! :)

And as I head out to shovel snow from the driveway...

OK... that's a lie...

I do not shovel snow
and I do not take out the garbage.
That is what I have a son and a husband for!!! :)

Wishing a very
Happy Thanksgiving
to all my U.S. blogger friends!
{and to any other country that is celebrating it}

Hope you are keeping warmer than I am! :(

I wish...

wouldn't it be fantastic
to be able to sit
smack in the middle of your food
eat all you want all day
and never have to feel the consequences
of your pants being too tight?

that would be wonderful indeed...

Weekend Accomplishments

The weekend is quickly coming to an end.
Did you accomplish lots this weekend?
I did!

Along with avoiding going out in the snow all weekend,

watched several movies:
Enchanted (Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey)
Hairspray (Nikki Blonsky, John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken)
The Mirror Has Two Faces (Barbara Streisand, Jeff Bridges)
Wuthering Heights (Juliette Binoche, Ralph Fiennes)
Last Holiday (Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, Timothy Hutton)

crafted 8 Christmas cards...

made 2 dozen sugar cookies...

snoozed with Banjo...

all that's left is catching up with blog friends...
of which I shall spend the rest of the evening doing.

:) Sweet Dreams!

Graffiti In The City

I find Graffiti interesting.
What possesses someone to deface private
and/or public property.
Do they just need to get their
message read or their art seen?

Clearly someone from Gull Lake
thinks Swift Current is a happy city.

That's nice that someone is
in 'luv wit' Mary Jane...
I hope they finish school first
before getting married...

This one is rated 'R'.

There's always
graffiti on boxcars...

someones art
riding across the country...

It's nice when someone comes along
and corrects the spelling mistakes...

I thought life was
a bowl of cherries...?

This one is
just nasty...

I wonder what they are
seeking and destroying?

Is this just a pretty design
or a symbol for something?
I hope it's not a symbol for something
I wouldn't want on my blog!!!

Just a little *

Well now...
this one is just cute...

Happy Wednesday! :)

Tis the Season...

I am!

And as you can see,
Banjo was a very BIG help to me yesterday.

I guess he was making sure
the Christmas boxes
stayed still.

He's gotten MUCH better at helping
since we was a wee kitten.

No more hanging out
in the branches for him.
Thank goodness.

But after getting all the decorations put up,
it was time for a rest.

A sneak peek...

Now it's just a matter of keeping
Banjo away from the sparkly balls and
white feathery birds
for the next six weeks.

Let the games begin...

Happy Monday!

Weekend Fun

  • Wrote my final exam yesterday and passed ~ hooray!
  • Hubby and I are going to Medicine Hat today to shop - woot woot!
  • Going to put my Christmas tree up tomorrow ~ yippee!

Hope you are having a fun weekend too!

"Today I realized that every minute I didn't spend
loving, laughing or having fun,
was a waste of time.
This knowledge comes late,
but I will not lose another minute by
not enjoying life and the fun of it."

Love is...

Love is...
running late on a snowy morning
going outside to find the snow cleaned off of your car already
not having time to stop at Timmy's
pulling into your parking spot at work
and having your hubby pull up behind you in his truck
with a steaming hot Tim Horton's
XL Steeped Tea for you...

Thank you Stanley!!!
Just one of the many reasons I love you!!

Scenes From a Snowy Tuesday

PS: To my mother,
quit rubbing it in that you are
nice and warm in Yuma...

I hope you are enjoying doing the seniors circuit
wearing only shorts and a tube top...

Please bring me home something nice. :)
