Saturday Roadtrip ~ Part 1

So where did we go yesterday?

We went to Cypress Hills Provincial Park and ended up in Medicine Hat, Alberta for a late lunch!

Look...

Saskatchewan isn't all flat prairie land ~ we have trees!

And lakes.
Some sunshine ~ finally.
Enjoying the morning.
There was a beach.
A spoon.
A sock.
Some boats.
Red leaves.
A frog.
Yellow and gold leaves.
Sun and shadow between tall trees.
A coyote.
Another long and winding road.

There was more ~ but that will follow another day.

The goose from the post below?

A gal from town told me it is a Toulouse Goose with Mallard babies who seem to have adopted her.

And now my lovely blogger friends, I will be trying to keep my hands away from the mouse and staying away from blogland for a few days.

I have an exam this coming Friday morning that I must study for.

But not to worry, I am spending this afternoon catching up with all you lovelies, and then I will be back Friday afternoon after my exam.

Who am I and where am I going?

This grey goose has been the talk of the Swift Current radio all summer... clearly our little city is limited on what deems to be news worthy....

But no matter ~ I finally went to search her out. I knew she was living somewhere near Elmwood Park. Sure enough, there she was with all her babies the other weekend. While I didn't tempt fate and get too close, she was by no means nervous of me being around her and her babies.

When I came home, I tried to look her up in my Saskatchewan Birds book. But alas, she doesn't appear to be native to Saskatchewan.

The Jane Hathaway* in me feels very embarrassed that I can't figure out what kind of bird this is.

So to the "Who am I" part of my heading ~ can any of my nature followers help me with the name of this goose?

And for the "Where am I going?" part of my heading...

We are on our 3rd sunny day in a row. It's been beautiful out with promises of 22c (71F) for this afternoon! Stanley and I are going on a road trip today. We are going to someplace I have never been (he has) even though I have lived in Saskatchewan most of my life. We'll be leaving soon and we won't be back until around supper time.

Any guesses as to where we are going? :)

Fall colors seem comforting to me

I wish they lasted longer

Everything is too wet

That Time of Year

As I hold on tight to my last few hours of holidays,

I get ready to go outside and put away

some of my garden treasures.

Some will be put into the shed

to be sheltered from the harsh winter,

others will brave the snow and ice.

There they are...

those pesky little snowflakes

showing up on the weather forecast.

Naughty Behavior - Part III

As mentioned in the original Naughty Behavior post, Banjo starts 'acting up' shortly before his timed feeder goes off. Getting into things and doing things that he's not supposed to. I really do think it is simply to irritate me enough so that I will give him a little snack to settle him down.

Some of you suggested to change the time on his feeder. He would soon be eating his lunch at 3 am if I kept doing that!

So how many things can a kitty put the bitey on before I crack? It seems like quite a few.

OK, I admit him trying to bite my fingers at the end was kind of my fault, but sometimes you have to explain to kitty that he is being naughty! :)
