Must Have Holiday Treat

Do you have a
#1 MUST HAVE Holiday Treat?

Mine is Caraway Seed Cheese
and I can't find it anywhere.

I am afraid
Christmas might have to be cancelled
if I do not find my cheese..... :(

Well maybe not quite
but I sure would like some.

And you?
Do you have a favorite
"I only eat it at Christmas" food?

Actually I don't have an "I only eat it a Christmas" food, but I like the idea so I'll have a new tradition starting this year!

Catherine you have reminded me about that caraway cheese and how much I liked it too!
My favourite "only at Christmas" treat is Italian amaretti biscuits which come wrapped in tissue paper and in my house after you enjoy the little almondy biscuit you roll the tissue into a cylinder shape and set fire to it! If it burns and rises to the ceiling it is meant to be good luck!

I think I don't know your Cheese Catherine but I hope you find it for your Christmas......enjoy your day....

ilove scallops! They are just very, very expensive here so i eat them with Christmas or in a fancy restaurant. I was in Nova Scotia once where they sold them by the pound!Ate them every night.
Your post about things that make me feel old was sooooo funny ( and recognizable). Riding in the back seat ( my son is 22 now) makes me feel old. Sometimes my mother sits with me there, double old :))

Sorry you did not win my giveaway, promise to do another one soon my friend.
Have a happy thursday.

Pine Nuts! In the shell, crack them with your teeth like a sunflower seed, and eat them raw. They are hard to find and are kind of expensive. I haven't seen them this year, and always miss them if I can't have them! Hope you find your cheese!

Well I would have to say that would be "See's Chocolate". Don't get me wrong I could eat them all year long. But I don't. Every Chirstmas I would buy myself
1 lb. box of these yummy chocolates. Now my hubby buys them for me.. True love!

I have never heard of that chese, but I bet it is good!

Hugs, Linda

12+ year old rye. :-P

Dark chocolate covered marzipan.

Mom's Kringle for Christmas breakfast...though it's been years since I've had any.

The traditional pumpkin pie that I have only twice a year--Thanksgiving and Christmas. :-)

That cheese sounds yummy! My sausage breakfast casserole is the only thing I don't make any other time of year. I make it the night before and pop it in the oven, it bakes while we open gifts. And then...breakfast is ready!

European Cake is my favorite at Christmas and I do plan to bake it this year. Our grandmother always baked it. Her cakes were the best.

OK I'll be the first one to say FUDGE!!! LOL
Sending directional hugs for finding your cheese!
I would always see it in mail order places like Figis, check them out online (I found it in an assortment pack :p http://www.figis.com/gifts/offer.asp?offerID=112992)
They are fast delivering too.
Maybe as a last resort?
*hugs*deb

There are two things which come to mind --that I only eat/drink on Christmas. One is EGGNOG... George and I drink a glass of Eggnog and open one gift on Christmas Eve... That's a tradition of ours...

The other thing is my Orange Balls --which is another tradition. My kids love them --so I make them for the family as well as for us.

Hope you find your special cheese.
Hugs,
Betsy

Yes -- baklava! I love it and make it every Christmas. It's so rich that I'd weigh 82323847 lbs if I ate it all year long.

Hope you find your cheese :)

Bailey's liqueur ... whilst decorating the tree...and also on Christmas morn...when we just sit and admire our tree and sip some over ice... then....some in our coffee and then... make a late brekky....

Sometimes we buy a box of Callebaut Chocolates too... the only kind of chocolate I bother eating. If I put it into the temple...it better taste good. Nix that...it better taste great. I love Bernard's chocolates and it's tough to eat any other once you've had his. Have you had them?

When you come to Calgary next summer..... mmmmmm

there are a few different kinds of cookies that I always make for Christmas and no other time of year, somehow it just wouldn't be Christmas without them.
I hope you find your cheese in time.
