First Day of Winter...Really?

As we head into the First Day of Winter...
Really?
I thought the first day of winter
was way back at the start of November.
Hmmm....

Well anyways,
as we head into the First Day of Winter
December 21
I hope you are getting your Christmas plans
all wrapped up.

And I hope you are not stressing about
any of the things you haven't done,
that you meant to do,
that you should have done,
because remember...

it's supposed to be
'Happy' Holidays...

:)

I'll be happy when the day is here and we can finally relax! It snowed here a ton last night, which is gonna make the morning commute lovely. Oh, it's gonna be a long day.

Why is it that winter starts long before the official day but spring seems to always arrive late. It's just not right...lol
Love all the pictures and the message. I am indeed enjoying the season and leaving the stress behind

Considering that we already have almost three feet of snow on the ground, I'd say it's about time that winter 'officially' got here!

Have a happy week!

A joyous Solstice to you all! The mom has been counting down the days; tomorrow we start getting a bit more daylight again! Hurrah!

We wish you a wonder-full holiday!

I never understood that first day of winter date. It has about as much meaning to the average Canadian as the first day of Spring! Someone is lying to us.

Catherine,
I am so glad you feel blessed this holiday season! Someone asked me at school if I was stressed and I refuse to become that way...that is NOT what the holiday is intended to be about and so I try to hold onto that!
I have to agree with you about the first day of winter today? Really? I think someone messed up the calendar! I love the birdhouse with the little snow cap; so sweet!
Thanks for being such a strong part of my blogging/writing community. I appreicate your visits so much and always look forward to your kind words.
Have a blessed day!

Hi Catherine, thanks for the reminder! I'm off to the stores for a couple more gifts, "take a deep breath" "relax" I hate the crowds, so my plan is to hurry, and get back home, but I will love being out in the rain. Maybe I'll stop by Starbucks and then I'll really feel like I'm in Seattle!

Hey Catherine! you are so right!
really stress on a daily basis just drains us, doesn't it! so let's put off every weight and just be happy with the simpler things in life..and with what really matters, right!

thanks for your visit!
have a good one girl!

I've given up trying to get ready for it so am concentrating on the Happy part of the holidays! It helps that for the first day of winter here we finally have no rain and actually some blue sky! YAY! (The rain returns tomorrow for at least the next week but today I'll celebrate!)

Where has the time gone??? I'm not buying any Christmas gifts this year. Not making any either. Santa better do his job, or people are going to be sorely disappointed this year! hehe!

Thanks for the great reminder! I've been in a bit of a panic trying to finish up...several gifts will be late (in the mail). But at least I remembered them...right?

I'm looking forward to Thursday. Katherine and I are going to bake goodies.

Have a wonderful Christmas, Catherine. Stay warm!

From the mum-
We had our 'Christmas' a week early this yea, as my brother and sister in law were going overseas. It feels really weird, I keep thinking there are things I should be doing or need to be done, but it's all finished. I am enjoying the Christmas cake though... ;)
