Thoughts About Cats

I'm happy to report that Banjo slept very well again last night
{as did I albeit a drug induced sleep...}

Do cats ever not get a good nights sleep?

I guess if they didn't sleep well at night,
by having no other responsibilities
other than looking cute and shedding hair onto furniture,
they can always catch up on their sleep during the day.

Cats...
They seem to have it all figured out.

Happy Wednesday!!

:)

Hi Catherine, what a beautiful black & white picture of Banjo, it is nice to read that Banjo had a very well night, cats are beautifuls sleepers, i love to wacht my cats sleeping. One of my cats sleeps like a little baby sometimes in the evening he sleeps on his back, with his legs wide open. But only at home ;-)

I read youre reality column: take good care of yourself.

Sometimes I envy my fish - all they have to do is swim around and look pretty :D

I think cats have perfected that whole "cat nap" thing.

Hope you got a good amount of sleep and some pleasant dreams!

How nice it would be to sleep like a cat...... instead of tossing around all night...and waking up about every hour once I do finally fall asleep....

what was the final instalment outcome of the goose story? did I miss it somewhere? I'm off to scroll back and check....

Glad to hear Banjo slept well. The only times my cats don't are when I am tossing and turning and disturbing them! Really, I should just sleep on the floor and let them have some peace!

Yes! We could all be pretty healthy if we could sleep like a cat. :-) Most times my 2 sleep with me, but on a rare occasion I'll come downstairs to find Fetzer just hanging out on the floor in the piano room, maybe he is having trouble sleeping? LOL. Must be nice to know you don't have to worry about getting up for work and you can sleep all day!

The team have asked me to comment on their behalf: they are OUTRAGED by your remark about having no other responsibilities, etc.

They wish me to point out (haughtily) that cats discharge many duties and responsibilities, including making sure their humans don't over-sleep, that food debris on the floor is cleaned up quickly, that the boundaries of the home are patrolled and unwelcome visitors deterred, but most of all that their beloved family's mental health is protected by regular therapy involving fur-stroking and purring.

And there's so much more - they say you should pay closer attention; Banjo works hard for his living!

Dear Catherine,
your Banjo ist a cute cat. Cats are very smart, the know what they do and want.
I'd like to have a cat too, they are my favorite animals. But my husband has an allergy.
Hope your reality is better now!

One thing I have learned from my cats is to 'sleep on it'. What they are 'sleeping on' is always a mystery.

I sometimes laugh when I think about the prospect of an insomniac cat! They do have it all figured out...and they look pretty cool the whole time too :)

Hope you are having a fab day!!

To quote Shakespeare
"O sleep O gentle sleep,
Nature's soft nurse,
How have I frighted thee,"
Whatever you, and me too have done to frighten sleep away cats are not guilty and sleep on oblivious.

I could be a cat, I swear. I never get enough sleep and I can take a nap in a moment's notice--and I often do! I try to nap every day if I can--even if it is for 20 mins. I think that is why my cats like me. :)

Hello Banjo,
My name is Penny and I am a Jack Russell dog. I am really pleased to meet you and must say you look very peaceful.
I'm hoping my face may soon be on your wonderful blog. I'm getting quite famous. 'Arf', arf'.
Have a peaceful and positive weekend in Saskatchewan. The guy I allow to look after me has been to Moose Jaw:-)

I envy them. I wish I could sleep all day.
And what would purring feel like? I wonder.
