Thought For The Day

I believe the only people who can truly
"live each day as if it is your last"
are people who are very rich.

For who would choose on their last day to
go to work, clean the bathroom,
vacuum, cook supper, pay bills, etc.

I think the best that we can do
is to ensure that every day we:

say "I love you" to those we love
have a laugh when we can
reflect on what we are thankful for
and to be the best person we know how to be.

For if this was truly my last day,
I would want to:

stay home from work
spend the day with my boys,
eat 4 pails of ice cream,
and a few boxes of chocolate...

I would be humongous,
living in a pig sty,
with our house being repossessed,
if I truly lived each day as my last.

And that is just my
Thought For The Day... ;)

You are funny! If you lived each day like it was your last, your last day would come pretty quickly! :) I agree though, snuggle with kids and eat ice cream!

This thought almost made me cry this morning, Catherine. Hubby and I had a 'small' dispute last night (it's always about his/her adult kids) ---so we went to bed without telling each other that we love each other... I hate that ---and thank God we don't do it very often. Life is too short to act so silly!!!!! (We are fine this morning and apologized to each other...)

Hugs,
Betsy

I would eat curry with lots of rice, every hour of my last day!!

Tell my hubby and kids that I loved them and stay with my dogs all day.

Ahhhh! A trip to Big Boy for their Brownie Sundae loaded with hot fudge, ice cream, and whipped cream. Of course I'd have to eat it if I knew it were my last 10 minutes because it makes me sick and I'd hate to spend the rest of the day throwing up, and that would make it a total waste!

I am in total agreement. I'm wondering if I'm close to my last day, because my house is a pig sty right now, oh well, where's the ice cream and chocolate.

Hi Catherine, sounds like a great last day to me!! Yes work and housework are all mundane and boring, but I try not to see it as that any more. I get through it by being grateful I'm fit and able to be doing it and not laying sick spending my last days in a hospital bed or a wheelchair. When I think this way, work all of a sudden becomes very enjoyable indeed!!Happy week to you xxRobyn

I think that's a great plan--I wouldn't even let my office know I wasn't coming in! :-))

I'd want to laugh my butt off. You know, the kind that you cry that you laugh so hard?? Yeah. I wonder if that would be hard knowing that this was your last day.

If it were my last day I think I would be so overwhelmed by a huge to do list I would have to lie down in a darkened room with a cool cloth on my forehead. After making arrangements for the care of Charlotte and Emily first of course.

After cancer and a big reevaluation of life and my priorities, constant cleaning was knocked way down the list. I was scared of having my family put something like, Here lies Jen, she didn't have time for anybody but you sure could eat off her floors on my tombstone. Good post; great point :o)

WOW, what another great post.. It is so true.. I definitly would not want to go to work.. even though I love my job.. I think I would want to do one of my favorite things and that is camping.. I think that is why I love it cause we go to beautiful places and just sit and enjoy the beauty.. No house work, no bills to pay,(till you get home)
No computer (that part is sad).. no laundry...

I just love it....
Hope you have a great day...

Hugs, Linda
