A Productive Sunday

I woke up to cool weather this morning (again!)
so I decided to make pickles.
A very simple refrigerator pickles recipe
that I like to make each year.
I like when my pickles have faces! :)

As my pickles sat chilling in the refrigerator,
I thought I would bake some cookies.
I left the pantry doors open too long....
It's hard to get any work done around the house
when you have a cat...
Get out of there Mister!!!
10 dozen of my favorite cookies.
Oats, craisins, chocolate chips...
Most will get sent to Wayne's
work place tomorrow.
Banjo eventually got out of the cupboard
in order to watch the birds for awhile
and the rabbits.
It was a very productive Sunday
for both he and I.

Now I am going to cuddle under a blanket,
with my laptop
to just sit and relax
with my feet up
and catch up with all of you!

Hope you had a nice weekend!

Glad you had a good day, Catherine.... Both the pickles and cookies sound so GOOD.. My mother used to make the best Bread and Butter pickles I have ever eaten... Haven't had one that good in years... (She died in 1991.)

Those cookies actually sound fairly healthy.... Does that mean I can eat SEVERAL at once????? ha ha

That Banjo would just love to get ahold of those birdies, wouldn't he???? He'd be in trouble with Auntie Betsy if he did!!!!!!

We had a nice weekend also...

Those are the happiest looking pickles I've ever seen. The picture of Banjo saying hello to his lunch cracked me up.
I wish I would have been as ambitious as you were today. It was nice and cool here and would have been the perfect day to do some baking.

Banjo only wants to help you find things in the pantry, don't you Banjo?
Not sure about pickles with faces, I don't think I could eat them they look too strange.
Warm sunny winter Sunday here. XO

Glad you and Banjo had such a wonderful Sunday! He is just so cute! The pickles sound really good - do you put the peppers in the pickling stuff too? The cookies look really good. Wayne's co-workers are going to love them!

The calico bunny must have adopted you. It's so sad his people let him run free and hopefully he'll be okay this winter. I am glad he's sticking around your house - he knows where to be!

I just love how Banjo is "helping" you in the kitchen! I've been trying to work on a fabric collage, and a small painting project in my craft room and both kitties keep wanting to jump up on the desk with me and there's no room! (I do so love it when they follow me around though) :-) I'm glad you had a nice weekend.
Yummy cookies!

Hi Catherine! Looks like you had a very yummy weekend!! My cats also love hiding everywhere, specially on my closet, where I keep the winter scarfs, so soft and comfortable it´s the perfect place to sleep all day, don´t you think? :)
Love the hello lunch pic!!

Have a wonderful start of the week!!

Your cookies look so yummy.. I'll take a Dozen.. He he
Mitten is the only one that like to help out in our kitchen here.. I don't know how many time I have stepped on her tail while I'm cooking.. And they sure do luv those hiding places... Now cuddles just hangs out on the couch and watches safely and away from my feet...
Wonderful Pictures :)

Hope you have a nice day!
Hugs, Linda

I can usually find a cat in a cupboard here too. But mine open the doors!

Oh, man! That makes me so hungry, seeing all that good stuff. Luckily I didn't have to cook yesterday--my husband made cioppino, tiramisu, and risotto while I puttered around him cleaning up. A good day too!

Have a wonderful week, Catherine! :o)

I got in my car this morning to go to a friend's house, and I found Grace sitting in the backseat! It scared the beans outta me! Those kitties love to go where they are not supposed to!!

I like your smiley pickles. That beats my smiley frogs any day!
